SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Yep I have interchanged PEK / PVG / MNL many times. PEK / PVG as you say same miles so a monty. Inter MNL with a Nth Asia dest like PEK / PVG was diff mileage - but it could be done. If increase in pts read online easy - just pay extra pts and it would calculate extra $s read - easy. If other way and you did it online no refunds - call up and do over phone and excess pts and $s would be refunded- go figure.

Have bought a wheeled briefcase so my arms won't grow longer. ...
I found my wheeled rollaboard fitted very nicely on a trolley (along with my backpack) while spending an 14 hour transit recently exploing the extreme air-side crevices of T1/T2/T3.

Way OT, so sorry but tearing my hair out and hope to get quick answer. Have Velocity changed it's online redeeming/moving points to SQ?

i did it last week & it was fine, instantaneous! Have you linked your velocity & krisflyer accounts?
go to points transfer airlines

edit- just tried & it worked. Had the confirmation email before the screen said confirmed!

edit#2 disregard this also!

Sorri, bit of a panic, all organised now AND I got an F/Suites one way to JFK. Hopefully, a ret will come up too before the 23rd. Need to go and calm down now.

Is there a way to get JFK - Aus that's not via LAX or FRA?

yeah - changing destination is no problem. How they handle the change at the back end is another thing. Changing PVG for PEK for example would would require same mileage etc and the passenger wouldn't even know except for a change in ticket numbers. Maybe madrooster can shed some light - would be interesting if SQ did changes without reissuing.

It's a requirement to reissue a ticket when you:

1. Change origin, destination or add/change/delete transit point
2. Change classes aka RBD (reservations booking designator) - not just class of service (ie. F/J/W/Y), but the actual fare bucket
3. There is a change in the fare or taxes

You can revalidate a ticket when you:

1. Change dates
2. Change flight number (eg. take an earlier flight on a given day)

No change to origin/destination/transit point/classes (aka RBD)/fare/taxes is allowed under a revalidation situation.

This is industry standard for ticketing.

In the context of the SQ award rates changing, basically the above two changes (under revalidations) should be possible subject to any relevant award change fees, if any. Anything that requires a ticket reissue will be charged at the new rates.

Revalidation of Tickets – Any redemption made prior to Mar 23 at any redemption level – SR, StdR of Full Redemption (FR) – is eligible for date change, flt timing change or deletion of a pax from multi pax booking post Mar 23 at ZERO pts or $ penalty – they are revalidated at equivalent rates to what existed prior to Mar 23.

Thanks.

CE am I correct in believing that flights that I book in March 2017, for Feb 2018 can be changed to August 2018 in September 2017? Same passengers, same ports. etc. etc.

Correct - unless there is a monumental change in SQ policy between now and then - date / schedule changes can be easily changed either online or over phone provided there is availability on desired flts on desired date.

ninja call and get KF to add your desired WL to your confirmed booking - if WL clears is simple revaildation to sub flts and should be no fee.
Thanks the tip.

Will call up today and I guess ask them to send a chaser for it. Hopefully I can get it cleared in the next 3 days.

On another note, I booked MEL-SGN return and forgot to add stopover in SIN on the way back. The stopover option at the bottom of the available flight screen doesn't really stand out so completely skipped passed it. Called up to add 2 day stopover and got slugged with a reissue fee :(

Can always just cancel the booking and take the $30 fee hit if you later decide not to go.

Only 3 more days to go.

spacebar

I'm feeling the same! I've got 300K+ sitting in velocity that I am thinking of transferring over and booking a R class for the wife and I. I just don't want to take the the $$$ hit!

Lol, you know you can just press enter/return and then backspace to fix the spacebar glitch.

Make sure you transfer pts soon to avoid any transferring delays and to give you time to book before Thursday comes round.

I've been wondering why hummel types "spacebar" ... I thought it must be like counting to three before jumping down someone's throat for them making a silly/objectionable comment! All this time, I've been thinking hummel must be very short tempered!

Haha sometimes the trick works and sometimes it doesn't so who knows. :)

Anyone heard of a waitlist being closed? I called to waitlist a flight and the CSR said it was closed for saver redemptions? But open for standard?
