SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Correct - unless there is a monumental change in SQ policy between now and then - date / schedule changes can be easily changed either online or over phone provided there is availability on desired flts on desired date.

OK, so I found a couple of place holders that are only 2 days apart (depart/return). I assume there are no real dramas with this? Either they'll allow date changes (which I assume can be very different for depart and return) or they won't, in which case a refund can be done at a cost of about US$50 (each pax or per booking)? I've read most people saying the tix is valid for 12 months from departure date, so is it also the meaning that the return flight also has to be within that same 12 month window (from departure date)?

Anyone heard of a waitlist being closed? I called to waitlist a flight and the CSR said it was closed for saver redemptions? But open for standard?

That's just equivalent to what you find online quite often.

Can't see why there would be. I've actually booked my outward and inward trips around the wrong way (as one-way awards). Since you're going to be changing them anyway...

WL as two separate flts - outbound as one and inbound as another one - 12mths is from date of first flt for each booking. Cancellation fee is USD30/pax/booking up until 24hrs pre dep and after that is USD75/pax/booking.

Quite normal and happens often - simply means inventory for Saver Award already exhausted and WL pax total is maxed - no idea how many but I will find out and report back after Mia returns on Apr 3.

Thanks Cruiser. Could you also ask if the max is a 'fixed' thing? In that, it could open again depending on what happens with pax in waitlist queue? Just wondering if I call again in a few weeks to see if things have changed.

Yep I will try to get full run down re status priority / WL numbers etc

Can always just cancel the booking and take the $30 fee hit if you later decide not to go.

Only 3 more days to go.

Ok I think you sold me on the idea

spacebar

I'm feeling the same! I've got 300K+ sitting in velocity that I am thinking of transferring over and booking a R class for the wife and I. I just don't want to take the the $$$ hit!

I bet lots of people are doing this.... Myself included !

Yeah it sucks to take the $$ hit but think of it as saving for a holiday ;)

I don't think waitlisting is what's needed here.
Yes I think booking as two one ways allows more options and if only one leg ends up being on the dates you want you can cancel just that one way flight (ie book again at the new rates later or book a *A or QFF redemption etc) and keep the other. It also allows you more options if you change your mind on where you want to fly in or out of.

In my case I have now decided to spend 2 months holidaying in the UK in 2018. I am happy to fly into London in Suites, which I have now booked, but it is simply way too early in my travel planning to know where I will want to fly out of, and the route back.

I will quite probably go for a *A redemption out of Ireland. But might come back via the Americas, or maybe via Europe. With either rooute a *A redemption stacks up ok.

So I am content to have just booked going over and not back.

Whoever datsuzei is who copied verbatim my post onto Flyer Talk yesterday please remove it ASAP! This is more than a request trust me.

Note to Admin and all AFFers - This is not the first time my posts have been re-posted without authority - I DO NOT post on Flyer Talk and never will again. A third recurrence of this and I will not be posting on AFF either.

I rarely look at FT so it wasn't me....
Have a Suites run to London in May but we will miss Phil and Lizzie opening the Chelsea Flower Show by a couple of days.
The run on the 777 out of Singapore to LAX worked fine but I miss 2A and 3A for the two of us.

That's very annoying, trouble is this is public and anyone could plagiarise.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

I don't know if datsuzei even posts on AFF? looks like they just found the info and posted it. You could flag the post with a moderator on FT.

Posting the link would have been ok... and at least would mean it would reflect any updates you make to the post on AFF.

That was not very nice what datsuzei said if they mean what I think it means. Should definitely report it on FT.

YES totally naïve of me - it will never happen again.

I don't bother with FT so I cannot comment on what was said, but CE, people know you. You aren't a phantom and I guess plagiarism has been around since the caveman started scratching on rock. I'm not sure what the answer is, but not participating on AFF punishes you for some other twerp's actions.

Hey quick question I have a hkt-per booking I want to cancel and reroute bkk-per now points won't be back in the account in time are they able to exchange the ticket on the spot without waiting for the miles to recredit? And whoever c&p other people's work ain't cool
