SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Came through TPR the other day back from CDG arrived at 6.30am with SQ 211 to SYD in a few hours
Only breakfast menu on but asked could they do some lobster?
Yes no problem it will take about 15 mins
That's why we fly suites!

Just a thought about TPR

The last few trips through here and have had some long layovers
Could they grab some of those lie back type chairs in the public area of Changi and bring them in so I could have a snooze??
Have gone into the small rooms near the second tv pulled two seats together for a rough nap but I think I might drop SQ a note to suggest.
Any supporters for this?

Flew through SIN on Monday evening and TPR was like a zoo. Never seen it so busy, almost 75% of the seats both in the lounge and restaurant section taken. Service very slow too. Still love it but definitely the least relaxing visit I've had there.

Yes pls do so infinite wisdom man - SQ indeed are looking at incorporating some 'nap rooms' in refurb of TPR which will prolly take place late 15 / early 16 - but space is a prob.

I have $60 Changi Vouchers (General Use) to give away. The transit time was so less that we couldn't spend it on something useful (yes, yes - also not on liquor). Please PM and I shall post it. Expires Mar 2015. My next trip is however in April, so it is of no use to me.

SYD-SIN-HKG

should I take the 905am out of Syd on the 777 with a 4 hour layover in TPR, or 1215 A380 with a 1 hr layover in TPR? currently on the 777 with what looks like 2 other passengers, A380 has only 3 open seats (1 middle, and both row 4's).

assume both are a lunch service? (777 is b/fast & lunch, 380 presumably lunch & snack)

next time I'm there I'll ask them to swap the burger with more foie gras and give me a real chook egg!

Interesting tip

Never thought about that at all !

While you're at it, could you ask for a separate boarding line for F pax ?

It's a little messy lining up (at SIN) with 30+ J pax.

Can anyone confirm the changi vouchers have been changed (again?)

Wife went through last night and said she was able to spend the full $40 on a purse or perfume (something silly like that) I thought it was now $20 for 'goods' and $20 for 'services' (food/paid lounge). I think she even had another $20 lying around from a previous trip that she used as $60 in one hit at NW.

I have $500 in vouchers to spend this arvo - will post definitive answers after that.

My understanding is you will receive 2 x $20 vouchers if transitting long haul - short haul transit you will receive 1 x $20 voucher only.

The 2 x $20 vouchers for long haul transit consist of 1 x $20 voucher that MUST be spent on alcohol, tobacco or perfume ONLY - lets call them ATP for short - other $20 voucher can be used at almost any store in SIN - lets call them ANY. So you can use the ANY vouchers as ATP to increase your free content on a purchase of alcohol. tobacco and perfume - BUT - you cannot use ATP vouchers to add to your ANY value to purchase say a camera or other electronics goods.

Now to best my knowledge that is how it works - I will clarify in SIN later today and repost.

What's on the shopping list Cruiser?
It was going to be 2 x 16GB WiFi minis - but not one to be had in any of the 3 terminals at Changi - will have to keep the $'s on ice til next month.

As for Cruiserette's gifts this trip - try this on and tell me if she is one spoilt wife or is she one spoilt wife? Her gifts:
- 1 x Spinner cabin bag with matching computer bag
- 80 x Apple lightning cables with LEDs running through entire cable
- 20 x fake Swarovski bracelets
- 10 x fake Chanel bracelets
- 12 x fake Michael Kors bracelets
- 4 x selfie sticks
Now seriously - what more could a girl ask for?

Back on topic of Changi $s - indeed usage is exactly as I stated earlier - ATP vouchers only for alcohol tobacco or perfume / cosmetics - ANY for any other outlet in Changi - ANY can be added to ATP but ATP cannot be added to ANY - clear?

Now was told by girls at voucher dispensary that current Changi $ promo will DEFINITELY end Mar 31 - it will be replaced by a new promo which they claim they do not know what it is as yet - but Changi $s post Mar 31 no value - spend 'em kids.
