SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Firstly, I am not sure if this is the right place to post my questions, so i apologise in advance if it is not.
At the moment, i am planning to fly out from LHR back to MEL with SQ in late July 2018. (I have already redeemed a one way J ticket with SQ to LHR in June 2018.)
This is also my 1st time flying into LHR.

Some questions with regards to Heathrow T2 :
1) Does it take a long time to clear T2 passport control and security checks ? (I know SQ allows check in 4 hours prior to departure, so i guess that helps to lessen the stress)
2) Are the early morning departure flights busier than the late evening flights ? (I was planning to take the SQ305 flight which departs at 0925am)
3) Do SQ J and F class passengers have access to some kind of fast track immigration and security lanes for depature flights?
4) I am also considering flying out of AMS or ZRH with SQ. Do these airports offer a less stressful and more pleasant departure experience, compared to LHR T2 ?

Advance thanks to all replies.

Posters have already answered most, LHR T2 is extremely pleasant as a premium passenger (probably for anyone). I fly out of there weekly. No security queue at all for J or F pax.

Long walk to the SQ lounge and gate, buggy available for F pax.

AMS is a cough-show in my opinion, avoid if possible.
ZRH is fine, again I'm there regularly, but prefer LHR T2 (unless using the new ZRH LX FCL E lounge)

This is awesome. I have an F flight booked out of LHR for early 2018. How do I arrange this? Is it offered by lounge staff, or an 'on request' item?

Thank you Vantage for the reply :) Ok, i will fly out of T2 then !

B777 is fine. I would just like to have a suite for one of my legs to CDG, as the SIN-CDG leg has already had the A380 subbed out.

Comes highly recommended, at least once.

When time permits there is a TR for virgin F trip SYD/MUC EY and suites CDG/SYD.

Better half has declared there is no other way to fly AND will apply for a new CC when I ask (rather than accidentally forget...)

SQ CDG lounge is interesting...

Interesting giving BS Rose as prize when it is served on zero SQ flts TBMK - but maybe they are contemplating adding to wine lists? One can only hope - this is seriously palatable - standard offering in GA J - go figure.

Better make sure I have a business card with me when we fly in a few weeks then....

ZOMG I’m in TPR and there’s a bloke in Lycra short shorts and a singlet having dinner. I would have thought there would have been dress standards ? Is this one of you lot ? **

Yay Managed to get a bulk head seat on my midnight a350 flight without issues at check-in today.

Should be able to sleep better hopefully

Edit: even though the bulk head row was occupied during online check-in

First J flight coming up next Thursday. PEK-SIN-SYD. SQ807 & SQ231.

Will arrive in Beijing early(ish)after travelling from Shenyang and know that we have access to the Air China first class lounge and/or the Beijing Aviation Ground Services lounge. Also have been advised by the experts on here that neither is very impressive.

I was googling around today and noticed that there is a brand new Beijing Aviation Ground Services lounge but it says it is for Sky Team. I also found another site that said Star Alliance have access.

Are there now two BAGS lounges and is the old one the only one I will have access to? ......or do I get to try the new one?

Also we have secured seats 18F & 18D on both legs so thanks again for the advice.

For those that have departed from FRA, what's the best lounge option on the short SQ26 transit?

I hear that the AC lounge has good showers so that's where I'm thinking we should head to.

If it's for Skyteam, it will be in T2, where Skyteam hub is. SQ departs from T3, so you most definitely will not have access to it!

Flying MEL-SIN-MXP FCO-SIN-MEL in September/October and have just had notification the last of my flights changed to the A350, started with no A350 flights and now four legs have been changed over. Managed to get bulkhead on every flight, only because we are traveling with a baby. Looking forward to flying in a new type of jet.

Dear Cruiser

Thank you for reaching out to us through our website to share feedback regarding our partner lounge at Zurich and Shanghai.

We are sorry to learn of our disappointment with no champagne served in the lounge, particularly when they served sparkling vinegar which did not meet your expectations. We are aware of the conditions of our partner lounges at Zurich and Shanghai Airports, and we wish to assure you that every effort is made to improve the current conditions.

Please be assured of our best intentions for our customers at all times, as we recognize that providing our passengers with an enjoyable experience at the airport lounge forms an integral part of our service to you. You may wish to know that lounge audits are performed regularly, and in the process, feedback from our passengers are collated and shared during our meetings with the lounge management, however, we seek your understanding that the implementation of change ultimately lies with the lounge operator, which is beyond the control of Singapore Airlines. That said, we will continued to work closely with the lounge management, together with our partner airlines, to look into ways we can improve in this aspect.

Mr Elite, we appreciate that you care enough to share your sentiments and thoughts with us, and look forward to serving you better on your future travels with us.

Yours sincerely

Does CA offer F to SIN? I checked to PEK and PVG but got errors, with business the highest cabin offered. Unless it's seasonal?

Senator Lounges are star gold lounges. I wouldn't expect champagne in economy class status lounges. Nice bonus if it's offered. As for the CA lounges, LX F gets the same as SQ F. Perhaps SQ could arrange for a separate supply of champagne for it's own pax.
