Any advice on seats to avoid in J on the A380 and 77W?

on the A380 11A/K should be avoided (windowless). The pick of the bunch for solo is probably 17A/K, or depending on the configuration, 91A/K or 96A/K.

On the 77W avoid being too close to the front galley left hand side. And the farther you move back towards there's a very noticeable sound issue.

My planned redemption shows availability if I was to book it as 2 1way tickets, but as a complete return journey, it shows no availability..huh!?.

So book via phone or book the 2 1way tickets?

We currently have row 14 middle pair on both flights, can move backwards but not forwards at this point.

Sorry, should have said as a couple. Looks like the config with Y at the back of the upper deck.

On SQ231 on the way back last week, me and my daughter took 96A/D and it is actually quite good. The only thing is the constant number of people going to toilets, as well as close to galley. But plenty of legroom there.

Bulkhead is preferable, but if those are blocked, any middle set avoiding galley/WC is going to be same same.

my preference, even as a couple, would be two windows, or possibly as kamchatsky a window and aisle. Having control of the window shades, plus the extra sense of space, might off set the few minutes you won’t have direct conversation.

to answer my own question.. rang them, they couldn't see any availability at all for my dates.
They said if I could see some then to book ASAP.
Hopped online and had to book as 2x 1-way tickets.
got the dates I wanted, one with saver & one with advantage and to Frankfurt in J, during their summer in June.

Gotta love SQ, don't think any other airline has such awesome award availability! :D

Normally we'd both go for a window each but I think with a 1am departure, middles will be adequate.

We had 12 D/F that were bulkhead on the a380. No foot cubby, but still the seat behind us intruded into head room when laying flat.....
Sorry, I should have clarified, we liked these seats, as we had more leg movement than in the other seats with a foot cubby.... would take these ones again.

Thanks LadyC - there was definitely something wrong on my system! Called up and it was all good :)

Excited to see what a 20 minute first class flight will look like!

If travelling with the wife I prefer we both have window seats with me sitting behind the wife. That way is harder for her to see how many drinks I am served!
If we are sitting in the middle as a couple she answers for me if Singapore Girl asks if I want a top up or another drink!
