SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Did 1A and 2A on the new SQ A380 Suites. Mrscove was quite impressed. Kris Flyer Miles are still my favourite.
I will tell you how impressed I am with new 380 R - yesterday I had 3 flts PVG-SIN-MEL cleared - 833 in R then 237 in F - 833 in R then 217 this morn in F - 833 in J and 217 this morn in J - I chose J - the new R is just hideous IMHO - like being locked up in a sheep pen.

I have only ridden new R twice but TBH I would take old R every day of the week

Oh and did I mention how much more fun it is in J with the SQ girls?

(One other reason for choosing J which I will report on later)

TPR SIN is OK Dark no view been a few times not particularly comfortable and showers are not any different to Krisflyer Lounge Maybe Ive been spoilt by LA F lounges, the LH First Terminal and of course LX First lounge E gates and now A Gates I'd rank the Private dining in the AA Flagship First louge sat LAX and JFK better than the SQ Private Room Just MHO

Some refer to the iconic 'Singapore Girl' in a generic sense, but are referring to general high standard of service of service.

If you are refering to 'girls' as if there is some sort of sexual overtone or connotation, that is an entirely different issue.
Whatever MEL - you have been appointed posting policeman? I must have missed that

Ah yes LX F at E gates where the allegedly have 200 different whiskies and 1 type of $5 sparkling cats pee
Yes but that's the Senator Lounge, not the First Lounge, at E Gates!!!!!! And 2 hote lrooms to sleep in with a luxurious bed and your own ensuite! That's LX F! As are the baby lamp chops available all day, cooked to order in A and E Gates F Lounges, and a vaping room wit hDavidoff Cigars in the A Lounge!

Not sure if anyone here has flown the new Airbus 350-900ULR as SQ22 from SIN to EWR or the return SQ 21 EWR-SIN? How was the experience? It seems that the SQ21 flight has consistently flown East from NY sometimes just following a traditional Atlantic crossing to Europe and then a standard track from Europe to SIN in the company of all the other Europe to South East Asia flights. If you were to include this flight on a RTW ticket (why would you?), would they count it as an eastbound or westbound leg as the original plans showed the flight coming back via the Pacific?

Just for you MEL - these are the only pics of SQ crew I will ever post:

Pic 1 shows you indeed I can swing both ways - Danny is a SQ Auditor I met on 833 Nov 8 - first ever exp for both of us on new 380:

Pic 2 Chloe and Charles both on duty in J cabin yesterday and will be married in SIN Jan 19 - just the loveliest couple:

Fun fact: Just in Mel F lounge now going to HKT via SIN with silkair SIN-HKT. Apparently no Golden TPR invitation if onward flight is with silkair.

Guess no golden souvenir for this flight.

Guessing you're on tonight's SQ218?

Where did you ask for the TPR invitation? At check in or at the SKL entrance?

Having my first ever F (rather R) flight next Wednesday night on the same SQ218 flight, with the onwards SIN-MLE flight on SilkAir, just like your second leg.
Would really hate to have this honeymoon experience marred by a rejection upon asking for the golden invite.

That would be correct because your access to TPR will be on an 'arrivals' basis due to your inbound F boarding pass - not your outbound flight in J on Silkair.

As the inbound lounge access is an unpublished benefit, you won't receive a formal invitation.

Yeah on Sq 218. Been hard finding any saver seats on the other flights out of Mel lately.

Asked at the lounge this time since last time I asked at check in they said check at the lounge.

Seems bit silly that outbound Sq J you get the invite but not outbound MI J, especially if the destination only has Silkair flights.

Anywho, this was a non issue compared to the fact that the missus only has 5 months left on her passport. Check in agent advised, after asking higher ups, that as long as passport is valid for the trip, she should be fine. We'll see when we land in coughet. Hopefully we don't need any sort of Visa on arrival for her due to having less than 6 months left on passport. Hopefully they let her in otherwise I'll have to find another travel buddy.

Correct, the access is no problem, it will be nice to have that golden envelope as a souvenir (as not sure when next F experience on SQ would be).
TPR Invitation is a GOLD Card only - no envelope.

TPR Invitations are handed to pax at Reception to SKL Lounge.

TPR Invitations are only handed to pax if SIN dep flt is SQ R or F - no matter if SQ J or MI J dep will not get you TPR Invitation. Invitation to TPR is exactly that - an invite for you to enjoy TPR access prior to your SQ R or F flt dep SIN.
