SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

TPR Invitation is a GOLD Card only - no envelope.
You're right CE - my bad! Poor choice of words :)

TPR Invitations are handed to pax at Reception to SKL Lounge.

TPR Invitations are only handed to pax if SIN dep flt is SQ R or F - no matter if SQ J or MI J dep will not get you TPR Invitation. Invitation to TPR is exactly that - an invite for you to enjoy TPR access prior to your SQ R or F flt dep SIN.
That's fair enough - so even though arrivals access to TPR is an unpublished benefit, the agents still won't consider giving one even as a souvenir? Damn, was really looking forward to having one!

Correct - no chance they will prepare you one - don't waste your time and effort.

TPR Invitations in SIN are prepared at entry to F Check-in area not in Lounge as they are in MEL

Thanks mate. Now to book a through flight MEL-SIN-xx_ all the way in F/R to get that golden card :)
Cheers for the advice.

I did FRA SIN SYD all in Suites and still didn't get one at FRA.
I just rocked up to TPR upon arrival at SIN and they let me in, they did take my boarding pass for 5-10mins.
As I had a 12hr transit in SIN, I ventured out into the city for meetings and used the dedicated F terminal for check-in once back at Changi, I was then give the golden invite

There ya go - that is exactly how it works - some dep ports such as CDG / SYD just disregard the fact that it part of the operational procedures to issue hand written TPR Invitations to ALL eligible pax - they have stock to produce as that is sent to all stations from SIN. You will get the response from some here that Invitation not worth it - but many pax do like that souvenir.

SIN F Check-in closely monitor ALL upcoming R / F bookings and any pax with greater then about 4 or 5hr layover will have an Invitation prepared for them just in case they do clear immig and then check-in again. I have also had to wait a min or 2 at F Check-in until Invitation was prepared - but it is really only a min or 2.

Do the rectangular shaped gold coloured Solitaire bag tags do anything? I assume not.

I saw a bag on the carousel at SIN T3 which must of had at least 15-20 of them on it. I saw a few other bags with at least 5-7 tags as well.

That would be correct because your access to TPR will be on an 'arrivals' basis due to your inbound F boarding pass - not your outbound flight in J on Silkair.

As the inbound lounge access is an unpublished benefit, you won't receive a formal invitation.

Just to add - when I leave LHR in Suites and connect to Perth in business (due to no first) I am always given a TPR invite at the LHR lounge.

Interesting - Comm tix or Rdpt tix? Tweaked my interest - not over this but I need check policy Comm tix v Rdpttix.

Paid ticket
Curley one - SIN SKL Lounge Managers cannot even define access eligibility - they rely on emails from LHR for pax access eligibility - further homework reqd.

I shouldn't be too hard for SKL Managers. Singapore Airlines 'published' their TPR eligibility (via way of an FAQ type interview) back in 2017. Including that arrivals access is unpublished, as well as a number of other examples involviing connecting flights.

Yes we always get into TPR going both ways between Perth and London via Singapore as SQ has only business class between Perth and Singapore.
This week we struggled with dropping a friend off as a redemption nominee to put on a new nominee. Finally my son lodged the form and about 6 calls later it was fixed. It is a pretty convoluted system in 2019.
Mrscove had some expiring Kris Miles that needed to be used so that has been fixed with two tickets to LHR and back thru Manchester.

I'll give you Sachi's phone number if you like MEL - she is member of Senior Lounge mgmt team and she was not sure

The query wasn't about 'eligibility' to enter it was about 'receipt of Invitation' to enter - the curley bit and the bit that Lounge Mgmt were not 100% sure on was receipt or no receipt of Invitation for Comm v Rdpt bookings of mixed class flts - ie differeing cabins on 2 or more sectors.

cove you have done this flt LHR-SIN-PER For R then J a dozen times - have you been issued TPR Invitations previously pre dep LHR?

Edit: cove don't you book these flights as 2 x single sectors?

I have never come across this before - I have done multiple mixed class flts F or R and then J but they have all been Rdpt bookings never Comm tix - and every one I can remember was ex SIN in J so TPR arr access came into play so no TPR Invitation issued I thought - I don't know but will endeavour to find out.

We received invitations in ZRH for ZRH-SIN-PER with SIN-PER in J booked as a single F saver award.
