SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I thought PH Rare is available in the SK F lounge?
In the old TPR, staff brought over a bottle - no idea if that is the case with the new one.
Unfortunately no Piper Rare in the F lounge for the last few weeks. It’s been Taittinger Millesime 2015. Clearly the chief wine boffin thinks all Millesimes are equal, or that most passengers won’t notice 🙄

This was the only choice in the temporary F lounge back in May. No point drinking that, better options onboard.

I think that’s around the last time I saw it too. It was also out of stock for a week in early June, so let’s hope it reappears like it did then. I’ll check this week and report back.

I have an award booking from MXP to PER, in Y :(, and am waitlisted for J availability. I have seen a Y seat, on waitlist, a few days after my confirmed booking. That day would suit my plans better and is also a saver fare though always in Y. If I waitlist this seat, and it comes through, can I book it (have enough points to do so) and refund my original booking? Are there any fees?

yep, budget US$75 for cancellation IMO.

do the A350-900's out of BNE have live TV on board? i'm seeing that some do and some don't and as they use the regional variation here i'd suspect they don't

SQ246 is the long haul version of A359 and has live TV.

good to know. i'm the sort of nerd that could sit there with CNN or BBC on for hours. add to that live Premier League i'll be a happy boy

It’s an overnight service, if you book on the weekend then good chance to catch some live EPL games.

I'm booked on a friday night out of BNE, getting in sat at 3:40pm. i'll see the 12:30 sat kick off and will finish not long before landing but coming home there are 3 games on the sunday whilst flying back to SIN

But not always. A bit hit and miss with which version of the A350 you get. On seat selection on one of our flights it was obviously the long haul version but on the day was the regional version

Ah yes I forgot SQ is notorious for aircraft changes :(

Just went through CDG this morning. In the air at present.

From check in to passing immigration and security only took 30 minutes all up including the walking from check in to the boarding gate barriers where there was initially immigration and then security to go through.

Flew in J with SQ and for both immigration and security there was a priority line called No. 1 that a J ticket allowed you to access. Without that access it would have taken much longer.

Used the Air Canada Lounge.
It was fairly basic, but enough seats so that all that entered could get a seat. Good offerings were basic, but ok. Alcohol was readily available, even though we were there in the morning.

Fra to Sin next week in J on SQ. Any views on best lounge to access? Also is lounge(s) before or after passport control? Thanks
Lounges after passport control - either Lufthansa Senator Lounge or Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge - much in a muchness IMHO - some prefer ACMPL - F & B offerings pretty well same - LSL has great showers - try both 👍
