SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I think it’s a combination of both at the moment. Fuel prices are high, which is a deterrent against using more 380s and 777s.

But I’ve been told the biggest issue is a lack of 380 and 777 trained crew. This goes for both coughpit and cabin crew as I know for many their endorsements for the grounded fleets lapsed during Covid.

Can anyone please comment if row 3 in suites gets any galley noise?
I was in 1A recently and the guy in 2A kept flailing about and banging the screen waking me up. I haven’t had that before.

Based on your post are you asking about R3 in the older F on the a380 if so I have had no issues with R3.

Looks like SQ have reintroduced BTC out of EWR, I noticed it on my booking and as last time I checked it wasn't available I checked on the SQ web site and it was listed as available. Happy with that.

Currently in the SKL J lounge in Changi and I really like it!
8.40pm and still plenty of seats available.

just a pity they are out of toothbrushes in the showers :(

They don't seem to stock them in the showers any more. My trip back on Aug 11 they were not there either.

I think it is the newer version which has the throne chair in the middle of the suite. That only has 3 rows doesn’t it?
The new version has only three rows and I have not flown on it. Looking pictures posted on this site and the web the TVs in R1 and R2 seem to be in close proximity to each other and I have no idea how thick that drop down divider wall is. I have misunderstood your post and thought you asking about the old config in which the TV is at the front suite and your head position is at the back of the row in front. Also on the old config there is R4 that puts the galley further away.

Have posted a photo of the new version. I’ve only had 1A. I know @Cruiser Elite prefers row 2, so I'm trying that next time. I also prefer the old seating config.

I have sat in every Suite except 3A - TBH noise never worries me anywhere on any flight as I am usually the loudest and most interactive with crew so not best for advice on this matter.

The reason I always chose 2F if I could was it used to be best chance to get ‘double’ suite to yourself - pax were less inclined to sslect 1F if they saw they would be having 2F pax sleeping imm other side of divider - that theory did work pre-Covid with less than full cabins but in these post-Covid full cabin days that theory pretty well put the window.

NO MORE FACE NAPPIES AT CHANGI NOR SINGAPORE AIRLINES TO AND FROM UK. So happy with this as flying SIN to LHR in 3 weeks, 8 hours transit at Changi there, and 26 hours transit at Changi on the way back (staying airside the whole time - have 24 hour stay at Aerotel so just staying at Changi. Was 2 hours but then Singapore Airlines decided to cancel that days flight entirely.

We flew out late July & everyone I saw was wearing one. Wasn’t too bad (I did switch to a cotton one when sleeping) but I’m grateful to be flying home early Sept!

We're flying to the US over Christmas so very pleased the masking rules are being removed. Now if only the AU domestic requirements could be removed also....
