Question regarding overlapping reservations on SQ.

I have a Y non-changeable ticket for SFO-SIN Mar 29, two day stopover in SIN, then SIN-PER on Apr 1. Due to change in plans I want to eliminate the stopover in SIN.

I understand my existing ticket cannot be changed. I am thinking of buying another ticket for SIN-PER that will connect with my original SFO-SIN flight.

My question is will the SQ reservation system allow me to make this additional booking. Essentially I would use my original ticket for the SFO-SIN flight, throw away the SIN-PER segment on that ticket, and then use this additional ticket to fly from SIN-PER.

Any comments appreciated.

You could wait a bit and see if SQ pulls any schedule changes between now and march, that might give you some flexibility to make changes.

Otherwise there’s nothing to stop you making the new booking. There aren’t any duplicate flights here, you are essentially nesting a separate ticket. For all SQ knows you could be flying right back to SIN the next day to pick up the remaining leg of your original ticket.

I haven't spoken to the call centre but the ticket is 'economy lite' and clearly states changes are not allowed. Also if I try to modify it online, the only option is to cancel in which case it only wants to refund me the taxes.

Your post is very helpful as it allows me to think of options.....I will wait a little longer to see if any schedule changes come along. If not, I will go ahead and book an additional ticket so I can travel straight through.

The SKL lounge wine selection is going downhill. Now an automatic dispenser with only 3 wines. Chardonnay, trialing and Shiraz. The whites are at room temperature.
Fortunately you can still pour your own champagne. Piper Heisdeck.


The lounge though is the quietest I have seen it.

There’s the same self-pour machine in the F lounge too.. dont remember the selection 2 months ago (might hv been bus lag..) but it wasn’t at all memorable.

Does anyone know if SQ have frequency / visit capping at TPR?

I've got a flight from MEL to LHR that involves a 12 hour layover, normally I wouldn't even consider something like that but I'm wondering whether staying in the airside hotel, and dropping in to TPR whenever I get peckish forr 3-4 topup snacks/meals would be permitted?

If both sectors in your booking are R or F then won't be a problem - come and go as often as you like

If its a daytime layover then you could fill the time with TPR, a swim and/or massage, a bit more TPR, train trip thru the Jewel, quick march the length of T3 etc - All of that is airside. But if its a nighttime transit then get a bed and show up in the TPR for breakfast ? Anyway, no limit to yr visits, once you hv shown yr BP you'll be known and unlikely to be quizzed as you come n go.

Just spent few hours in TPR (connecting from LHR to MEL) and I was the only one there for the whole time.

First time to use the new showers and they are awesome! Couple of high pressure jet options and the room is big enough to not get all steamy like a sauna after shower.

Not sure if it’s been announced previously, but latest KrisFlyer statement says miles expiring between Jan-Jun 2023 will be extended for a final 6 months. This is just what I was hoping for!

Fantastic as Mrsdrron has miles expiring in February but not enough for the award we want. So now the miles from an LH flight in March will get her enough.

Fantastic news! I have miles expiring on both mine and my +1 accounts between Jan-Mar and with all flights for 2023 already booked we were going to struggle to use them.

It’s not like SQ don’t know how to do proper lounges outside SIN. The LHR F lounge is very nice

I guess that's the price we pay when there is not a spare seat on any flight at the moment and we are all prepared to pay top dollar to fly anywhere this holiday season, not only on SQ but on almost any airline. They really don't have to try to create a good impression. Once the loads drop and we have a better choice of seats, they will have to up their game again.
