SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Unlimited free wifi!

They should first improve the WiFi quality. It’s mostly unusable and even when it is signal so low that only basic functions work. I remember years ago posting TR with heaps of photos onboard JAL F using their WiFi. Try doing that onboard SQ, couldn’t even send a photo on WhatsApp during my recent flight.

According to this, yes:

South West Pacific

The A380 will return to Melbourne after almost four years on 16 May 2023, while Sydney will receive a second daily A380 from 17 May 2023. The A380 will replace the 777-300ER on SQ237 from Singapore to Melbourne, and the return service SQ228. SIA will also operate the A380 on SQ221 from Singapore to Sydney and the return flight SQ232, instead of the A350-900 medium-haul.

When logging in, I've got a 777 booking that hasn't been changed over to A380 yet.

Called SQ for my Waitlist flight on SQ232 in June yesterday, hoping that they would release seats for me, so I don't have to wake up very early for SQ212 leaving at 7:55am. But the computer still says No. So looks like SQ can really use all the additional capacity in this route.

Unlimited free wifi!

Won't be telling the kids about this, they will try to use Minecraft and Roblox the whole flight and complain when it doesn't work properly.

MAY be good for them to use Netflix though, but I have my doubt on the speeds

Might run a speedtest on 212 and then on 494 next Tues, thats if I can actually connect before rest of the plane logs on and theres enough pipe left to make it a useful exercise.

Can guest 1 in Sydney SKL from 8-ish Tues morng.

It just gets better with 5G calls on the cards.

Great 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
All those loud self important suit types shouting all trip attempting to ‘close the deal’
As if the Cabin Crew dont have enough to police
I think there should be a special section for those wising to use this service (they can all sit in a toilet in Y)

Preferably on the wing. ;)

Due to a system limitation, the flights for the origin and destination you have selected cannot be displayed. Please select another date/itinerary.
When trying to look up award flights, I get this from time to time. Anyone know why and importantly how to get around it? I've tried different browsers etc to no avail

Waitlists do clear occasionally - I W/L F MEL-SIN / R SIN-FRA Adv a couple weeks ago for mid June 2023 back before the equip subs - this morn cleared so now have R MEL-SIN / F SIN FRA - you never know your luck in the big city huh?

And I should add that the day I waitlisted the R/F flt I also waitlisted J Saver and J Adv and the R/F W/L cleared first - go figure

Question for the brains trust.

I am flying F SYD-SIN-DEL, the family (wife, 2 kids) are in J.

Am I able to guest them into the F lounge in syd & TPR in sin if I ask nicely?
Failing that, would I be able to guest my son given that he is a child? Taking him off my wife's hands will make her life much easier.

Maybe if you're lucky. Maybe to the F lounge and not TPR. Kids should be easier though
