SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Checkin this morn for 238 via F counters and not kiosks - I will try to find out some more when I can talk to someone

There would be >100 waiting in Y queue and 12 in J waiting counters to open
What time does the airport check in open for SQ238?

I absolutely have to be in Shanghai for a trade show May 5 to 9 - SQ showing ZERO rdpt availability so check comm tix - this my preferred flts but don’t go much on the costing:

So check individual sectors - outbound:

And return sector:

CNY11,720 = ~AUD2.5K - so I jumped in and booked it - kinda makes the outbound sector look a tad pricey does it not?

Have multiple W/L combos stacked just in case some inventory released - cancellation fee for comm tix $330 I think if I have to which ain’t a deal breaker

And $s refunded to AMEX o/n 👍
Lucky for you! I had to cancel a redemption booking I made for my parents. However the credit card I used was cancelled by the bank due to a fraud attempt, so lots of back and forth phone calls and e-mails. Even though I had made a cancellation request I received a check-in notice 2 days prior. Has been a nightmare. Still waiting for a points and monetary refund 3 weeks later. SQ generic reply saying ''up to 6 weeks''.

First world little wins. Got an email this morning from SQ:

In reference to your flight SQ895 for Hong Kong to Singapore, this flight has been cancelled. Please ignore the earlier re-accommodation on Business Class on SQ893. We will contact you again to advice on the rebooked flight.

Couple of hours later, while I was checking my booking, got SMS confirming the swap from 777 to 380 :)

What a tough life you have! You should demand to swap yourself out of A380!!! 😂

Is there a measurable difference between the Suites? I understand that couples would prefer 1A/2A or 1F/2F but why change if a single pax?
I read that row 1 has the largest floor space, followed by 2, then 3.
Not sure about your second question....

Minimal floor space difference - in Row 1 it feels like your snout is pressed up against the bulk head for takeoff and landing:

Well it does to me - again personal opinion

If travelling as couple I always stick the Ette in 1F and moi in 2 F - replicates side of bed we sleep on at home - if solo makes no never mind - any other Suite than Row 1 for me

And at the risk of sounding like a broken record all 6 new R are pox compared to 3C in old R - my home away from home ❤️ 👍

3C in old R is just heaven isn't it?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what time check in opens for SQ325 out of FRA - also is the lounge any good ?
thanks for the help
Unsure of the check in but I did use the air Canada lounge last time in Sept and it was fine. Nothing great, nothing bad.
Think I'll try the Lufthansa lounge next time which will be mid next year I think
