Thank you for keeping things on topic.I just did a change of date and flight on a redemption, went from being on SQ221 to now on SQ241 on a different date, but I can't seem to select my seat?
Went from an Adventage to a Saver award but didn't get a points refund (obviously)
Thanks for the advice and suggestions to use Air New Melbourne Lounge before SQ208 which I had considered.Hi everyone, quick question.
I have an upcoming SIA business class flight leaving from Melbourne on SQ208 at 18.25.
I’m been doing some research on the SilverKris lounge and it appears to be underwhelming.
Q: Is there any issue visiting the Air New Zealand Lounge instead of or even visiting both. Assuming I can as I’m flying business of a Star Alliance flight (SIA) but not sure if there is a local rule that I must use SilverKris lounge or can only use one lounge.
Appreciate insights including comparisons. Thanks.
Correct. It has always been thusJ pax with no status cannot guest at all
Hi all, just wanted to confirm a Krisflyer redemption query with our resident guru's.
I originally made a redemption booking in September 2022 for travel in September 2023. I now want to change the travel date to January 2024. When I rang Krisflyer, the agent said this was not possible as the Jan 2024 travel date is beyond the 1 year ticket validity (Booked in September 2022, so September 2023 is the latest travel date. Is this correct?
I unfortunately can't cancel the ticket and have the miles redeposited as the miles have also since expired.
Thanks all
I received this comment while chatting to an SQ agent this morning:It could be a difficult argument. The T&Cs attached to the latest extension contain this clause:
I think this clause was added at the time of the last extension as I don't remember seeing it previously.
- I’ve cancelled my redemption booking. Why have I not been refunded the full amount of KrisFlyer miles redeemed when making the booking?
Miles that have already been utilised for redemption will not be eligible for extension. If you have made a redemption booking and subsequently cancelled it voluntarily, any refunded miles will follow the date of expiry at the time of booking.
I asked the same question on here a few weeks ago but I didnt get a reply, however, since then ihave called a few times about this, as I have miles expiring soon, and I wanted to book for as late as possible, and then "extend" it again by changing the booking to a later date againI received this comment while chatting to an SQ agent this morning:
if the miles were already expired it will be forfeited however if the miles is due to expire we can still submit to request for an appeal to extend subject for approval and there is no guaranteee.
This is amazing. SQ have a policy (whether you like it or not) that miles expire after 3 years, subject to a once only extension.fouth person , who said I was welcome to keep a record of the chat, said I could keep on extending the flights without a fee, as long as the flight is avaialble, you pay the differnece in fees/miles required. I even gave the example if I booked for April 2024, and then in April 2024, I changed the date for April 2025, and so on, would it be fine,? they said yes it was
im really hoping this info isnt wrong as I will be relying on this on my miles expiring soon

No issues accessing, very quiet and very nice lounge. I’ll try the SilverKris Melbourne Lounge next
MmmYep, while the staff are lovely in the MEL J SQ lounge the food options are dire and even the F lounge is basically glorified take-away carb loading.
Heading to the NZ lounge is a great option, despite the agents in the NZ lounge reminding you, that you can use the SQ lounge
Veering off a bit, I find the temp, as in air cond in the AirNZ lounge at MEL Tulla a bit better, ie, not put at a high temp as is the SQ lounge.Mmm
I have used MEL amex one to compare and usually SQ but not NZ
I am on 208 next Sat so may take a peek in there; have lots of those wonderful hours airside before the flight after all the checkin where I live in my 2nd fave parallel universe; first being on board force fed luxury, time and rest.

So just spent a couple of hours in the SQ F lounge in LHR and puts the MEL F lounge to shame - and TBH the SIN lounge as well. Nothing fancy but good service a respectable menu (breakfast - not fancy but certainly adequate m - I had a full English with poached eggs). . A couple of champagnes on offer - no idea if they are supposed to be good or not but they went down well. Maybe the MEL lounge manager needs a junket to LHR to see how it is done well at an outstation.

I don't believe SQ has a calculator like that tho.Hello all,
Apologies if this has been covered numerous times but could anyone please point me in the direction of the SQ calculator which would tell me how many points and how much cash is required to be paid on a mixed fare? I've tried to find it on the website without any joy. Many thanks.

Agree 100%, the MEL lounge is vey weak, and I'm not a fan of the new SQ lounges in SIN, the J lounge is a zoo and just not "warm", the F lounge is better, and TPR is outstanding
The MEL lounge was renovated just prior to the "new" look that the SYD lounge received. Sadly it will be many years before it gets another renovation. No need to go so far, while the LHR lounge is indeed very good, SYD F lounge is nice enough, I always enjoy spending time there before a flight. Hopefully SQ will find an adequate location and get their MEL lounges out of the basement.
Agree. Some of my friends say they prefer the old J lounge. I wouldn’t go that far but the new one is definitely disappointing. As you said it’s a zoo, very hard to find quiet place to relax there. Adding what was the temporary F section and opening *G lounge next door didn’t help as meanwhile travel recovered and pax numbers are higher than ever.
