SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Typical bul***t response. They’ll do nothing about it.

I used to send feedbacks myself and got sick of those generic responses saying it’s valued and doing nothing to fix the issues. These days I keep to mostly positive feedbacks about staff onboard as I know it helps them, particularly when coming from J or F pax.
Then if you don't keep sending feedback about the negatives nothing will change - apart from the response I posted I do have meeting scheduled with MEL Station Manager before we dep for FRA next Tuesday May 16 - sending feedback does get responses.

I know others do not like the space, the "dungeon", but I actually don't mind the space - the furniture is quite comfortable and calming/chill before the flight, usually very peaceful. The Air NZ lounge, whilst has natural light and tarmac views, is very "loud" (visually), and low back chairs nowhere near as comfortable as the high backed seating in SQ's F lounge. It's the catering that's the problem. Not a huge fix - just a return to what it used to be like, one or two signature dishes (including a decent western option) + the hawker food. And decent desserts again. And of course wines that satisfy Cruiser (not my area of expertise, I would just like a cider available) :p

Two problems I suspect, first the ongoing dilution in how money is spent - you see this in SQ a lot - in ensuring diverse catering that covers international + the three major ethnic groups in Singapore (Chinese, Malay and Indian) and I think in the current environment more importantly budget that has been cut (or at best stayed the same) whilst with the current fares the number of Solitaire PPS members has increased. And maybe add to the fact that for quite some time MEL only had A350's operating and thus saw no genuine F passengers.

Off course it get responses because words are cheap.
I’m sure there were more pax who sent feedbacks, not only you and me, so the fact they say it’s the first time shows the attitude is not towards making changes.

Let us know how the meeting went, maybe talking face to face will make a difference.

Also, not sure if it’s the case with SQ but I know for a fact from other airlines that feedbacks from elite members are treated far more seriously than non-status pax (even if they always fly in the pointy end).

I'll be swanning about Changi T3 on 12 May abt 6pm-midnight local if anyone is about; prior to SQ237 SIN-MEL. TPR will get a hammering; I think there are sleeping areas there?

Also LHR SQ F lounge (whatever/wherever that is) tonight, Thurs 11th local, prior to SQ319.

Happy to guest someone in, if I am able (completely unaware of rules ... not my usual space!)

Unfortunately booked <24hrs before departure, so no BTC on main leg LHR-SIN - but there is lamb. Does it sound the same as described and liked above?

BTC available for SIN-MEL but red-eye so I won't bother.

100% they will not change a thing!

Rcvd from SQ MEL Mgmt after feedback I had submitted:

Dear Mr Elite
Thank you for your email. I am well, having returned from some time off.
I’m concerned to read your feedback on the food and beverage in the lounge. We are addressing the food now. We review this quarterly to ensure produce is fresh and seasonable. We have our chefs create a menu plan and we review this for suitability.
The wine - I am aware of the comments on the price, but yours is the first comment that the quality is substandard. I have not received any feedback that the wine is not good. That being said, we are reviewing the beverage offerings. I’ll let you know the outcome shortly.
As always, I really appreciate your taking the time to give your feedback. It is valued.
Regards
SQ MEL Mgmt

So allegedly my feedback is first time SQ MEL Mgmt have had feedback re wine quality and yet I have seen postings by others that they had supplied feedback - something doesn't add up
Ha! You’ve got to be kidding me. I will take this up again with Wesley myself as I’ve reported it at least three times now.

I was a little skeptical of the A350 regional J seat based on pictures and prior experience with the MH J seats leg tunnels.

I am happy to report that the lie flat diagonal arrangement is good for someone who is 185cm. The leg tunnel also no issues. The pillows could be slightly bigger. The bed base a little hard but I prefer the firmer side so that's Ok.

We dep MEL on 228 Tue - 2 x F booked way back MEL-SIN-FRA - as it turns out Tue 16 is 1st day 380 back on MEL-SIN route so for better or worse we are now on 380. SIN-FRA sector is LH F on 747 - looking forward to trying something new and would have loved to again experience that stair climb but alas not to be.

I am trying to nail down as to whether we are eligible for arr access into F Lounge FCT? Flt marketed by SQ but arr into FRA on LH 747. We dep FRA T1 4hrs later so F Lounge in FCT would be much better alt than any of the lounges in T1 - anybody able to supply definitive response. TIA
