Not to China it isn't - scarce as hen's teeth
I think we're seeing the same dynamic around wider demand after emergence from COVID, just that China is 12+ months behind. So you're absolutely correct.

But demand between SIN & Australia, SE Asia, Japan, and North America, and even some European ports seems to be coming off the boil, at least anecdotally. And awards between SIN & India (for those interested in going there), have been "off the boil" now for some months.

Don't forget that SQ have a regular promo for spontaneous getaways too. Presumably flogging off unsold seats on selected routes. So plenty of history of making availability "last minute".
The flights i was looking at had "promo" on it and hence i assume were on spontaneous escape. Hence my question on here about whether this was a lucky promo thing with availabilty.

Promo seems to be finished but availaiblity is still very decent/high

The spontaneous escape routes and available classes change each time the promo runs - so don't bank on a preferred route being available in the future. Business class routes to/from Australia are particularly uncommon for spontaneous escapes.

This is surely only temporary though given a fair bit of new supply is coming from Chinese Airlines and have seen some amazing deals. Yes, realise that SQ is a preferred airline but competition has to eventually have an impact.

Looking for some input regarding flights back from Istanbul or Frankfurt. How does the A350-900 J stack up v A380-800 J in terms of comfort ? I have been on the A380-800 a few times but never the A350-900. Trying to toss up what port to return home from next year.
I would choose the A380 if possible. Find it much more comfortable than the A350. And I still get excited every time I board an A380 :)

heya folks again, i can see plenty of avaialbily from mel to CDG for next week, but the way back say 19th Oct-ish, there is no f/J/P and pretty much only economy advantage
is this simply the only option?

ive skiscanner one way flight and its $1100,
ive checked qantas and virtually nothign avaialble for reward seats, except if i choose multi there is a MU for 66k points+213 Euro in Economy
ive checked virgin, nothing avaialbe

just wondering if ive missed anything? thanks in advance guys

How is the ANA lounge? I am taking that same flight in March, but have never been to the ANA lounge before.

Finally cancelled and now waiting for rebooking. Today's flight only had 2 empty seats and in Y.

It's going to be hard to rebook 3 of us in J 🤞

Our SQ707 BKK-SIN was delayed an hour after we boarded because of a problem with the R engine on the 789 -10 on Monday. They didn't even offer me a PDB until I asked for champagne. Then knocked back a refill request.

When things go wrong, SQ gets quite confused

Sad really

Actually, not so bad if they go wrong at Changi, they seem to have well defined procedures for that. If it's elsewhere you're up against the combined barriers of outstation agents (often contractors) and that Singapore mentality that values following rules over problem solving.
