SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I do recall not having issues on previous SQ revenue flights when I was travelling regularly
on SQ for work….
For a revenue flight with SQ in 2024, initially assigned our KF membership numbers to the flights, but changed our mind. Wanted to change Mrs LPs FF to VA to help my VA Plat maintain SCs criteria via family pooling. Could not do this myself, had to chat with online help, who arranged for the wife’s FF assignment be removed from the booking , so I could then select VA FF for my wife only. I stayed with KF

Oh FFS 👎

2 x 100% Chardonnay - FFS - what will the ‘grown-ups’ drink?

That’s it SQ - bye bye - QF F here I come 👍

Edit: These decisions are made by the same ‘World Class Wine Experts’ who think ‘The Bogan’ is a fitting R/F Class offering - FFS

Looks like it is only temprary:

As expected, no drama getting my UA*G and VA SG FF# entered at airport. BPs now show Group 3 (up from Group 7 😳). Plus Lounge invite!

What was impressive was SQ checked through our luggage to QF (seperate tix) AND were able to issue QF BPs. Quality time in SIN QF F / QR J lounges await our arrival!
Earlier in the year I checked in with SQ in SIN for my flights to EU. The last leg was actually a BA flight LHR-NCE printed on SQ stock with my BA number on it. The lounge agent in LHR took a good look at it and then waved me in. 😎

Our SQ issued BPs even have “QF Emer”! 😁 🤷‍♂️

There‘s a “Group 7”?? What, like, throw your luggage into the landing gear opening while the aircraft is taxiing? No wait, I’m getting confused with Boarding Group 6.

I’m sure the airlines will find a way to monetise this new boarding approach. “Thrill ride” and “Extreme wow” boarding now only $9 extra pp.

I think QF and SQ use the same checkin systems, so it's probably not that difficult to do it.

What’s impressive is that unlike most carriers today, SQ still choose to do so.

SQ still choose to do so.
Of course, it benefits SQ because they don't operate any domestic sectors and a lot of passengers may want to connect to other airports other than the one they operate to. By providing that service, Passengers and Travel agents notice and booking onto SQ ticket is less problematic and encourages return patronage especially for passengers of competitor airlines. Full service airlines should recognise they cannot operate to every airport in the world even with codeshares and they should never nickel and dime their passengers.

I think i read on here before about a year ago, but cant find it any more

I just booked a return flight in F using miles for oct 2024 melb to singapore
I thought all flights in F was the new suites product now?

But every flight/time was a 777, and the seat selection was not for new suites

Am i right that this wont be the new suites?

The seat selection was not for new suites because there are no suites on 777. You will have to book 380 for that. SQ 777s have first class seats which is an excellent product. You can find multiple reviews with photos on this thread and online about it.

Yeah, i had learnt that new suites was only a380.
I was kinda disappointed there was no a380 from melb to singapore at all when searched 2 months entirely.
Is there no a380s from mel to sing?

I was kind of hoping it was a system glitch or it would get updated later 😂

MEL is not important enough 😛 so SQ removed the 380 but not to worry because from Feb next year SYD will have two daily 380 services and it’s only 1h flight away 🙂
