So IMHO 773 has 2 distinct advantages over 77W and 77WN - first I'd 773 at least has o/h bins:

I just cannot believe SQ deleted o/h bins on later models. 2nd advantage is space in front Row 1 and behind Row 2 allowing pax to cross aisles without having to traverse Galleys:

TBH if I have choice 773 or 77W in F - I prefer 77W - readily admit 77WN trumps both - new F is realy good except for the rock hard cushions they give you - but simply ask swap for J cushions as they are soft as soft.

which i would have rather they used to make a longer bed! One cross-over maybe (either forward of 1 or behind 2), but they could have made two rows of proper full length beds had they removed one.

got denied the transit vouchers yesterday coming in from JFK - USA based departures supposedly excluded since 2014. also missed out on 1st choice of main - was told they took orders from front to back - would've preferred to have known they did it based on value/ FF level and just told us we were redemption tix but will never know. have to say the service on both flights (in suites) was a significant downgrade from prior service, particularly from SYD crew.

consoling myself in the maldives! ;)

My question was more about if the checkin desks are open for an earlier flight than the one I am on, will they let me check in? HLO of course.

I've checked in early for flights before the specific flight is checking. The only time I haven't been able to is when I'm in an airport where my flight is the only one so they haven't opened the desks yet.

Surely! If you can do multi-carrier check-in at those kiosks, then they must be able to check you in to other flights. But I'm speculating. Would be interesting to know!

100% correct - USA dep excluded since 01/10/2014 - I am sure I posted that in the relevant thread.

As for meal choice which cabin? How many pax in cabin?

MEL this has been discussed at length previously - you know the reason why this space exists - don't blame SQ for you being 12ft tall - the beds comfortably fit normal pax.

Talking of jarmies, will I get them on day flts to SIN if I ask politely, or just the next flt to LHR and the return via ZRH? I don't wish to seem greedy, but I actually am.

suites. 12/14. also denied amenity kit on FRA-SIN leg as had received on JFK-FRA leg. or something. Wife got the 2nd kit after I asked for it but they said they didn't have any more male ones.

my BTC was not acknowledged on either flight too.

thankfully they managed to get the 2 cakes i ordered right for birthday/honeymoon - although the second wasn't served due to some sort of miscommunication so is currently in the fridge here - could be worse as we managed only a 1/4 of the one on the first leg!

You can definitely check in early, as long as the desk is open.

If you walked up to the check in desk 48 hours early, it may be a different story. But within the same day? Shouldn't be an issue at all.

I don't recall the discussion on why there's space before and after? I'm not overly tall (6'3) - but I have to be on the diagonal to fit. It's the only fcl seat where I have to do that.

The retro fit of existing 773s took place same time 77Ws were introduced - the F seat on 773 and 77W are identical as you are aware. 77W F cabin footprint was specifically tailored around 8 F Seats - but F cabin footprint on existing 773s was approx 1.5mtrs longer that new 77W aircraft.

SQ were not going to design 2 different F seats or indeed a stretched F for 773 - one standard of identical seats on both 773 and 77W? It was commercially not feasible to attempt to move galleys / toilets etc thus it just resulted in having approx .75mtr gap fore of Row 1 and aft Row 2 on 773.

Considering I have a fair time between arriving in SYD before my SQ flight, am I able to check into my flight whilst checkin for an earlier flight is open? I.e. earlier than 3 hours before my flight?
JT I don't know how you booked your R exp but booking through SQ I always receive online checkin notification 48hrs prior to dep - rcvd via both SMS and email - I always checkin then.

My understanding is that SQ have all day physical checkin at all dep ports - I think that is the case but have never ever arrived at airport with long lead time to dep.

Eggs Beno in TPR just sublime this am - PH Rare not too shabby either:

Currently ensconced in 3C in R 802 en route to PEK - Krug tastes just as good as last time also albeit with a severe dose of flu. Gonna need a kip before I arrive so May has made up 4A in readiness for me - only 3pax in R today - check out my bed mate:
