But the real question is who is Sir Lankan and why is he joining OW?
Interesting.
When I think of Sri Lankan I think of Emirates.
Flew an A330 with them on the CMB-BKK route last month. Very nice.
Spoke to a flight steward who mentioned that the airline was hoping to fly direct to MEL in 2013. He also mentioned that the Sri Lankan government were building a second international airport at Galle.
FWIW great value J flights from KUL-Europe.
Personally, I think this is a really great result for OW.
For some reason I get the feeling Sri Lankan will be fully OW operational before MH.
Me too, but EK seems to have sold their stake and didn't renew their management contract.
The reason EK sold their stake was due to corrupt practices by the Sri Lankan government. The sacking of the former CEO Peter Hill is an example of these corrupt practices -->British boss of Sri Lanka Airlines sacked for failing to fly country's president | Mail Online
OW are scrapping the bottom of the airlines barrel to expand their alliance.....
Always wanted to visit the country, so at least now I'll be able to earn to my favoured alliance if I get the chance.
It would be nice if OW could attract some more 'first tier' airlines rather than these 'fringe' airlines.
True. Emirates would be nice. And even though they're only small fry, I'd love for our Kiwi mates to rejoin the fold too.
Small fry?... QFi is probably not that big an airline too!!!
The more important issue, is whether Qantas would be a great addition to EK Skywards? But they'd be a great addition to One World.
