I've hit the minimum spend. My next billing date is early January. Hoping it hits then so I can close the account.

do you mind telling me which card you use for visa/mastercard only transactions?
last i checked this card offered most points for asiamiles/krisflyer (apart from citi but that card is expensive)..?

Just saw that my 30,000 bonus points were posted into my account at the end of Dec. This was before my first statement was even issued.

Perhaps there's even time to re-apply before this offer ends?

Which ever my current VISA or MASTERCARD is with. Recently it has been HSBC. But that was also cancelled.

I've also a very large number of the Coles Prepaid Mastercards to get through - where I earned a large amount of flybuys in purchasing.

I care very little about earning points with a card. It's all about the sign on bonus for me. I spend what is required to trigger the bonus and move on immediately. Apart from an AMEX card I always cancel as soon as bonus points post.

How many new card applications do you do a year? I did 3 last year (2016)and my veda score had dropped 100-120 pts. You have a very interesting strategy I am keen to adopt =D

This has been detailed in other threads. But on average around 10 per year.

Forget about VEDA. It's largely irrelevant. Income and ability to repay are very important factors.

Following DrRalph's advice and cancelling my card today.

Don't have a new card lined up just yet though.
