Just FYI: Paid an ato bill and the charge was .78%. As long as it counts toward my bonus I guess it's OK. Would also like to get points.

Also put some on a M/C and the charge was only .4%

I was a bit gobsmacked when I couldn’t get a limit increase on that 0.4% MasterCard. I will still give them a treat over the next 36 days despite the $12,000 credit limit. I have all the quarterlies as well as our monthly.

They saw you coming cove. ;)

Am I eligible for the bonus points if I have held a Westpac Amplify in the past 13 months?
I know it states StG, BoM etc but the application just says Amplify.

No connection between Westpac and StGeorge for credit card offers that I have seen in the past.

can confirm that i still got the bonus points with the St George Signature, having held the Westpac Altitude Black about 6 months before.

The first 300,000 Amplify points have been really easy. I still have Kris Flyer Amex running hard.

Any previous holders able to enlighten us on the bonus points credit time frame?

Lucky I guess, but this is the first card I've had that hasn't insta-credited with the bill that went over the spend threshold.

Received card 5/12. Hit spend requirement on same day. Bonus points have not posted -T&C says 12 weeks so I expect with March statement.

Today it is 90,000 Amplify Points once you have spent $5000 within the time limit.

Just baffles me why they drag it out.

Pretty simple (and good practice), in that the longer they take to post the points then the more likely you are to spend more on the card, plus they'd probably factor in some people also having a balance and so getting that very profitable credit card interest.

It's definitely not unusual. A number of banks push it right to the limit.

The longer they take to award the points the greater potential for you to spend more with them.

NAB's about the quickest. Expect points from them within the first statement period.

But the upside exists when they fail to deliver the points by their advertised deadline. Then it's time for some free points!

Yeah, get that. For me, as soon as I hit the spend I've already got the next card coming. Won't be putting another dollar through.

Churners are the outliers, or so it would seem, since the banks haven't bought in more stringent bonus point criteria - so they'll happily push it out as far as their T&C's can..
