You could call them and ask for a review. I have read where others have done this but have no personal experience with it.

This Platinum $99pa offer does not seem to mention QF lounge passes. Good news is that the T&Cs don't mention excluding 'govt fees', so rates and other more expensive 'govt' charges should be ok. Not a bad bonus of 60K QF for $99 spend $3000.

"Eligible purchases do not include BPAY, fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account. Existing St. George/BankSA/Bank of Melbourne customers who currently hold an Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature Card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer. Switches, upgrades, or customers accessing employee benefits are ineligible".

Thanks for posting this, this wording could be useful to me. I've applied for a Bank of Melbourne card (despite having a St George card) which states

"Available when you apply for a new Amplify Signature card between 23rd November 2017 and 18th April 2018. Eligible purchases do not include BPAY or BPAY equivalent transactions, fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account. Existing customers who currently hold an Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer. The bonus points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks after the eligible spend criteria is met."

The St George/BankSA link is not disclosed as a restriction. In fact even their about us page doesn't disclose the relationship About us

However I suspect the fact is they may dispute that I am a new customer. The fact they recognise this link on the St George disclosures pages but not on the card I applied for gives me some good ammo if I eventually need to escalate to FOS which I suspect might be the case.

Thanks for your post @burmans. I was considering applying for the Bank of Melbourne Amplify Signature having cancelled my St George card about 4 months ago. I may still apply regardless but will be interested to here how you go.

Would someone have the phone number for the card applications assessment team please? Seems I have to explain my docs to them.

Oh boy. I'd forgotten how difficult some companies are. Emails with docs sent but apparently they only bothered to find one of those attached docs etc etc.

Yeah I always take the position now that they're going to screw it up. So I follow up the next day to make sure things are ok.

Got the Bank of Melbourne Amplify Signature and have spent $5k. How long until the 90k QFF drop?

You can’t actually talk to the assessments people, just an o/s call centre where the story is different every time as they come across as inept in understanding documents. Applicants best be straight up to sail through this one.

Understand, but you can find out what's actually arrived or missing or whatever they've buggered up so it moves quickly to assessment team.

I called up the next day after I applied. Found out the payslips I'd attached with the application didn't come through or had been lost. Had to ring twice to get it confirmed the next lot arrived. Had i not followed up, I don't know how I would have been waiting. Similar thing happened with HSBC.

If you're on a timeline or have spending you need/want to put through a card, I wouldn't submit and hope the application arrives in one piece.

Yes, have been doing that. Calling up twice daily to check that they have got what they need. Staying very polite as anything else is counter productive.

I see you again get the 60,000 points straight after spending the minimum spend. I applied for the card in early October, with T&C's of 40,000 after minimum spent and 20,000 if you hold the card a year :( This is the third STG card I have had so I guess I can't complain too much.

Although it was only 6 days of frustration, it seemed longer. But, finally cracked it and approved. Very useful 60K QF will take me to a F return if I can ever find the seats.

That sounds correct. I presume you applied for the platinum card? The signature had 90k qff bonus points with a higher annual fee.

You could call them and ask for a review. I have read where others have done this but have no personal experience with it.

rang them for my review.
couldn't say much why but the decision stood.
also got my credit report from D&B which is 100% clean... ahh well.

regardless, managed to get a hold of this card another way.
anyone had any success with an annual fee reduction if a st george home loan customer with the annual fee with "free" creditcard?
