St George Rewards Signature KrisFlyer Devaluation

With the birthday bonus and the uncapped earning... Perhaps worth holding still?

Looks like for a non Amex card and uncapped earn rate, the new St G rate from 31 July of 0.55 KF pts (incl 10% birthday bonus) per $ spent is still competitive which is a real sad reality. :(
Citi Premier earns 2 points per $ for online transactions (normally 1 points per $), therefore doubling the earn rate for those transactions only.
ie. 0.8 KF miles per dollar.

I have points across 3 St George cards (3 people) can I transfer them to 1 kris flier account? So all are consolidated.
You will likely get found out and then be in trouble

I actually have this card but don't use it...kept it as it is fee free for life. 200K points cap per year but the main problem is a lot of spend on government entities are excluded :(

I got the dreaded letter last night.
Thankfully I'm getting full value bonus as my birthday was on June 26 !
I currently have 240,000 amplify but expect to have lots more before 31 July. All will go to KF.
I have no problems with expiry as we travel often.
I'm already KF Gold so HSBC not useful.

Other suggestions?

I think conversion on citi is 3 points = 1 KF, so earning 2 points per $ means = 2/3 KF ?

I have a CitiSig card for life which is now CitiPremier and can find this "
Eligible Transaction is defined in the Citi Rewards Program Terms and Conditions and means;

  • any purchase excluding (but not limited to) Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, payments to other Citi branded accounts, bank fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges, transactions made using Points and government related transactions. Government related transactions include transactions with government or semi-government entities, or relating to services provided by or in connection with government (for example but not limited to transactions made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court related costs). Please note that whether or not a transaction is an Eligible Transaction will be determined based on information provided either by the merchant or the relevant financial institution (including information about the type of business conducted by the merchant). This means that, for example, spend with certain merchants may be characterised as spend with a government related entity and therefore not an Eligible Transaction, even if that merchant is not in fact a government related entity; or
  • any Citi PayAll Payments (for Domestic Spend only, International Spend is excluded)

but excludes any transaction that you are not permitted to make under your Account Terms and Conditions."

so....what to do?
