St George Rewards Signature KrisFlyer Devaluation

I hope we won't all be looking for the same flights over the next 3 to 4 years. The competition could be enormous

Or will get easier as there are going to be less points moved there in future, even if a chunk get dumped there now up till 3 October.

I mean for the bulk of the Australian population there is now only very limited ability to earn new Krisflyer points at a decent rate.

Oddly, while the Sunday worked for transfers, theyā€™d changed the ā€œbatchā€ size you must transfer from 500 to 600 already.

I assume now itā€™s lots of 600:200 instead of 500:250, but odd they did it that way first.

Yes I noticed that too.

Luckily I had only left 3000 points there just in case any late points showed up, so it still divided well for me!

Suncorp currently has a $99 annual fee for the first year offer, until 31 July 2023.
2.5 Suncorp points = 1 KF mile, meaning 120k Suncorp points = 48k KF miles

No 12 month waiting period either .. for now

1. To earn 120,000 bonus Suncorp Credit Card Rewards Points, you must apply for a Suncorp Clear Options Platinum Credit Card by 31 July 2023, then spend $3,000 or more on Eligible Transactions within 90 days from approval. Please refer to the full definition of Eligible Transaction which is set out on page 3 of the Rewards Program terms and conditions, for further information on government related transactions in addition to how an Eligible Transaction will be determined. All rewards are subject to the terms and conditions of the Suncorp Credit Card Rewards Program terms and conditions. This offer is valid until 31 July 2023. Required spend made in the first week.
Bonus posted in the first month, for anyone wondering.

Is there a cap? I didn't think so. But then it's never been my main spending card so maybe.

Yes there is a cap and unfortunately had to hit the cap last two months losing out on some valuable points.

Just confirming that the current transfer rate from Amplify rewards to Velocity points is 2:1 and there has been no devaluation. Planning to apply for the Amplify Platinum/Signature card to churn some points hence looking for suggestions. Thanks

Have booked some flights with SQ and we managed to get some Suites class so for me it will be hello Krug. Kris Miles had to be on Advantage redemption.

After the bonus of 90K/150K Amplify Points are posted , how soon can we cancel the card and if there are any ramifications on card cancellation ?

I am trying to make use of the advantage package which entitles me to have a free credit card but don't want to have a card with higher limit against my name.

Any suggestions are welcome , thanks.

Immediately cancelling is no issue. In fact if you can, meet the spend before the end of the first month, transfer the bonus points out, repay what youā€™ve spent and cancel the card before the annual fee is posted on the last statement day. I did exactly this back in May. Card was open for less than 2 weeks. 150k bonus amplify points for $0.

Did you have to chase the bonus points up? Iā€™ve always had issues with slow points postingsā€¦

Iā€™ve found that most of these ā€œrewardsā€ cards where you earn Amplify rewards, Amex MR, ANZ rewards etc (as opposed to earning direct to QFF or VFF) seem to credit the bonus points immediately/almost immediately with the transaction that takes you over the minimum spend threshold. This happened for me in this case as well as well. 150k bonus points posted within a day of making the spend.

Thanks for sharing, Iā€™ve actually found the opposite on most cases so very interesting to hear.

Seems you and a couple of others may not have had the same experience I have. So happy to put this in the hit or miss basket.

cancel the card before the annual fee is posted on the last statement day.

My card is technically free as I am getting that as an add-on from my advantage package. Hence not really worried about the AF hitting account but just want to churn the points and get rid of the card.

Is there any benefit of using the Amplify Signature card overseas ( acknowledging the 3% forex conversion charges) ?

Also are the forex transactions considered to be eligible for the spend criteria for bonus points.

Thanks for any inputs.
