Status credits - Pls explain

Lindsay Wilson,

The first offer mentioned by JohnK in post #38 was an offer to WP's to help them re qualify.

Whilst some WPs may have been offered the bonus, it was not an offer to WPs (which would imply that all WPs short of requalification would have been offered, and that no one other than WPs would have been invited)

Me too - trip report coming shortly!

This is something I can't see continuing on. Too many people taking advantage of flying on cheap non-QF metal fares to quickly earn top-tier QF status is something I expect that QF will look to eliminate.

For those who wish to be pedantic. The double SC offer was made to (some) WP's who were in need of assistance to qualify.

I do not personally know of anyone other than WP who was made the offer.

As a SG who had recently dropped from WP I was not offered the double SC bonus.

Whoops, I should have read that reply from JohnK a little closer straitman .

Maybe you and I should be complaining that as ex-Platinum's, we didn't get invited :D.

Alas, it would have been nice to have on my current trip

Most, if not all, targetted offers are made to Bronze & Silver members, who are the largest percentage of the QFF program.
I won't include Bronze people in that statement. QF have clearly told me that only people who have attained status are targetted for offers of this type.

Are you referring to the latest targeted offers? I was targeted as a Bronze member for double SCs between Nov 2003 - Feb 2004. Helped me get to Silver status in my first membership year.

I was just into my new year, so...

I don't think that is quite right... My many previous years being WP, some with PG would negate that thought process

Also, a worker of mine who's just about to become Gold, has been on the bonus SC's as well (from silver)

...As a SG who had recently dropped from WP I was not offered the double SC bonus.

After reading a post about the X2 status credits, I went onto the QF site and registered myself - I posted the process afterwards, so I still don't think that I was invited, I just joined! :)

I'm sure it will happen again...

A few of us tried registering but were unsuccessful. :-| I think you were targeted but somehow did not receive the offer. ;)

Methinks you were to be invited but you e-mail go lost in the process ...

This is because others who tried online were knocked back.

Yes! and Grumble Grumble. I was not included!

Sorry mate - I'll buy you a cold one next time I'm looking at you....

Yep, JK and Serfty, you guys are prob right - still would be interesting how QF drew the cards for who got it and who didn't

I guess it is as much of an enigma as OPUP's are!

Yes, only for the latest offers - I stand corrected.

I'm getting pretty close to attaining Lifetime Silver. Once LTS, do you only need 400 SC's in the first year to get to Gold, and then 300 SC's every year after?

No. You need to get 700 to attain and 600 to renew gold

Dave

Nothing changes other than you'll be PS for life (your's or the program's), you need to (re)qualify for higher status every year as normal.

i.e. If you are LT PS, to get SG you require 600/700 SC's in your year and for WP 1200/1400 SC's.

Thanks for that. A bit disappointing really as it would of been a significant bonus to achieving LTS and a decent form of recognition for long time loyalty.

I wonder if it could be argued though, that as technically as a Silver member, you should have "in credit" the SC's of silver being 300 (or 350), and therefore only need the extra 400 for gold!!

Wishful thinking only I suppose!
