Hi

Been reading this thread. Can someone tell me what the pre-requisite was to be offered this offer on double SC's. Thanks in anticipation

Its unknown what the criteria is, and if you get it one year its unlikely for you to get it for a while again.

How do those based in SYD doing the NAN run ex BNE negotiate the early BNE start? Overnight in BNE?

Seems like a waste of $$$ to book a BNE hotel.

I slept in the airport when I did it a few weeks ago. Ground floor in between the baggage carousels. Not a great night's sleep by a long shot but did the job. Had my flight arrive from SYD at 10.30pm and then woke at 5.30am, straight to the Qantas Club for a shower and nice brekky.

Book Bne-Mel-Syd-Nan, Nan-Syd-Mel-Bne

then ring QF to change the flights so you have:

Day 1. Bne-Mel-Syd (home in Syd)
Day 2. Syd-Nan (hotel in Nan)
Day 3. Nan-Syd
Day 4. Syd-Mel-Bne (home in Syd)

Then buy separate positioning flight Syd-Bne for day 1.
Then buy separate positioning flight Bne-Syd for day 4.

You could combine day 3 and 4 but it will be a tiring day!

It took me 18years to be selected!! I hope it is not that length of time again!

It is experience like this that is really pushing me to take full advantage of the double SC promo - it might be my only one!

LT Gold FTW!

My previous answer to your question was no, AFAIK, now its yes, so long as its a transit (less than 24 hours) then it appears to be OK, I was playing with the above itin and it let me have different flights that left less than 24 hours in Melbourne, once over 24 hours the fare shot up to what I suspect was MEL-SYD normal J then SYD-NAN special.

anyone give me any hints for how you would go about this with a JASA ADL-BNE-TSV-BNE-ADL?

I didn't get an email that specifically invited me to the double SC promotion. but in my june qantas newsletter, there was an ad banner for the promotion, and that's how i got signed up to it. I was a bronze at the time.

Even tho i bought my tickets before i signed on for the promotion, i still got the bonus SCs

Looks like I'm in a pickle!:( Hopefully Markis10 or someone may be able to get me out of a deep hole. I booked positioning flights to Adelaide with the intention of doing the ADL - BNE - TSV - BNE - DRW - BNE - TSV - BNE - ADL run. Unfortunately something urgent came up at the wrong moment and I haven't had a chance to look at booking my JASA's until now and the points required are just horrendous. I'm new to these JASA's so if someone who knows the system can help I would be grateful. I arrive into Adelaide this Thursday evening (7th) and have to be back in Adelaide the following Thursday evening (14th). Beggars can't be choosers at this late stage so I will pretty much go anywhere - domestic or overseas. Aim is to make WP from my current balance of 100 status credits in the week, and I've got about 120,000 points spare at the moment to put towards this.

Here's hoping!

I'd be looking at ADL-SYD-CBR-SYD-HBA (200 SCs in JASA) and portions thereof early next week... seems to be enough availability if you don't mind staying over where necessary. You need 650 SCs total?

I think it is 1400 SCs to reach WP from memory.

Ok understand now. This Tiger thing isn't going to help with seat availability either.

School holidays are not good either when it comes to low cost JASAs. There is very little poor value JASAs around, let alone good ones!

Ain't that the truth! I'm having little joy so far - looks like being multiple Sydney - Hobart trips at 300 FF points per SC before the double points offer.

Does anyone who is savvy with the Cathay J class SC runs know if any of these are particularly good value?

Hey guys,

I've got the Dbl SC offer too. :)

:?: CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS PLEASE????????

I'd like to do the NAN status run BUT I'm living/starting in MEL. Do I need to repos to BNE first for the ~$1300 fare?

(or am i limited to MEL-SYD-NAN-SYD-MEL?)

THanks!!

Cathay Pacific J fares can be good SC earners but are useless for a double SC promo as its QF flight numbers only.
