Strategy to obtain US Amex

Hi everyone,

I finally managed to register for the MyEquifax account.
Everything is ok except for two things :

1) My two Amex cards have the wrong account/card numbers (But correct credit limits and date of openings) Should i just leave it as it is ?

2) There is one credit card that does not belong to me (Opened in 2019 from Georgia Bank. I got my ITIN in early 2023) Currently no balance. Should i go ahead and dispute this online ? Or better to call up Equifax ? Has anyone here done a dispute with Equifax before ? If so, how was the process ?

3) I signed up for the account by using an American IP address. Do i have to use an American IP address whenever i log in ? Or just log in without using the VPN ? ( I think i may have locked myself out lol (Sigh) )

4) Out of curiosity, is their call centre based in the US or somewhere else ?

Uncharted is using MYUS, but they work in a similar way.

The issue is amex doesn't include the suite number and the shipping forwarders have to review and assign manually. MyUS may still assign it by name, they just charge a fee of $8.99. (Note my experience is that it is completely random) Sometimes it is assigned, sometimes its just silence.

My experience so far with Planet Express differs slightly to yours, I went on live chat and gave them my tracking number and they're managed to locate the package and assigned it to my suite. (I'm sure I'm just lucky though as I'm read mixed reviews online including yours).

Overall I think the best ones are the forwarders that are tailored to letters and charges a monthly fee like US Global Mail, heard nothing but positive form these ones. I'm just too cheap to pay the monthly fee.
I'm surprised MyUS will do it, they flat out refused to forward any "financial instrument" outside of the US - but at least my card did turn up there.

Glad you've had no issues with Planet Express, but yeah even with the tracking number that (supposedly they) had signed for, nothing. The bonus is they charge me nothing, for providing no service, which is fair 🤣. But when I venture beyond Amex/HSBC I'll re-evaluate my provider, I think.

Same re the fee, it's annoying that I'm paying $10/m for the T-Mobile SIM, but it's handy having the US number, I suppose!

I'm 90% sure you still have a FICO score, you just can't see it. There may be other ways to see it, I'm not sure.
Indeed, it disappeared from being visible in the app about a year ago. Awardwallet still pulls it when I refresh my Amex US account though, so it is still in the account somewhere!

This is on Cap 1 pre-approval Tool. o_O
I've managed to get past this point with C1 as my new address wasn't on their CMRA dtatbase (Sarasota is unfortunately so I've had to move).

CX1 sent me an email with the dollowing link on Friday AEST:

I heard nothing after uploading my passport as I don't have a US state issued drivers' license or ID card. I just called them up and they were adamant (I also spoke with a supervisor) that a state issued ID card is fine in place of a drivers' license and they would accept nothing else. A passport wouldn't cut mustard at all.

For those who've gotten to "yes" with C1, how did you get past this point? What did you manage to show as ID which was accepted?

TIA for your DPs. I really want the Venture card especially now they've done the hard pull on my credit file. It's a good broad-brush CC at 2ppUSD (1.3 points/AUD) which I'm sure I can make my general-purpose Visa card.

I just got approved for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, does it have to be delivered and activated first before you can get a replacement card sent to Australia or will they potentially do it for the very first card?
