Yes it’s an app. Not sure as I don’t have a chase account . Can receive text and. Calls from Amex and other regular nos .

No nothing of that sort required for US or other countries . What is crucial is your purpose for opening account - intention to purchase property works for US , UK and canada but not for Singapore or Malaysia !

They offer $USD200 travel credit if you renew this year. Hope it continues next year but I doubt it. 5x airlines is good even though it's useless for now. I keep mine as I use quite a bit of FHR and can make use of streaming credits. I used airline credit for United travel bank. I used saks credits to buy gift for a friend who receive mails for me. Should be able to get some retention bonus next year as well (30k to 50k).

Give them a call at 1-888-270-2127 and they will let you know. It's either a denial (could be short history, too many cards open etc) or They need a verification. They normally send a letter but I didn't receive it. If you use Google voice, make sure you know the county of your address and it should be fine.

You are right. I just called Chase they need verification. They said they has posted a letter to me. May I ask if you didn't receive letter and when you fax did you provide a ref number? I am thinking if I don't have to wait for the letter to arrive before I fax them the document.

I added a ref number to the cover page and also all pages of the docs I sent. You don't have to wait for a letter as long as they ask you to fax and tell you on the phone what docs they need. If they tell you to wait for the letter, either wait for it or HUCA in a couple days. You can also try to ask for secure upload. They normally say it's not available but you might get lucky. If they let you upload, they will send a link to your email and it will call your number to send the code to access the form. If you use Google Voice, you might have more luck answering the call using desktop. App could delay a bit and you might miss some digits, no option to repeat.

For Fax, I use faxzero.com paid version ($USD1.99). Free version might work. I heard people use some apps on the phone successfully as well ie Tinyfax

It is a travel bank. You add money there and can use it to buy the flights in the future. Amex can close this loophole anytime.

Thanks again for the information. I faxed required document last night. The passport fax is in color pdf. After fax it I found it is quite blurry. Do you get a email from chase when they received fax documents?

By law a 1099 form is needed if your referral bonus is above $600 in a single tax year, it's possible Amex will give you the form even if you only have 1 or 2 referrals, but it's not guaranteed.

Edit: A quick search seems to suggest you won't get the 1099 form from Amex if you don't meet the $600 threshold.

I didn't get anything. The person receiving fax will add your docs to the system then verification team will review them which could take a few days. I would call tomorrow or next week and ask (if not patient). If verification team still can't see you docs, they might ask you to upload instead. If they can see them, you would get a result straight away. It's likely an approval if verification is all they need (and no issue with your docs). I hardly hear people are denied after being asked to verify identity Good luck!

With the recent chatter about the US Amex Platinum card, apparently you can get up to 125k points as a sign up bonus, but unless you have an ITIN/SSN, you probably will max out at 100k since you can't go for pre-qualified offers without an ITIN/SSN.

Unfortunately referral won't work since you have to either go for a pre-qualified offer or using incognito browser to see the improved offer.
