Strategy to obtain US Amex

Yes it’s an app. Not sure as I don’t have a chase account . Can receive text and. Calls from Amex and other regular nos .

Some banks/services detect VOIP and refuse to send or unable to send ie Fluz app (trying to get Amex small shop credits).

My GV works fine with Citi and Amex. Chase is a weird one. I can receive their spending alerts just fine by SMS but verification when calling them won't work.

I tried Text Now and didn't work as well since they are all VOIP.

For those who wants to take advantage of the incognito deals such as the 100k Amex US Platinum sign up bonus, there is a way you can use GT or your existing Amex US profile when you apply for the card:
Step 1: Obtain the offer you want via the incognito browser, do "not" hit the apply button.
Step 2: Open a new incognito tab, and login using your Amex account (AU if you want to use GT or US if you want it linked to your existing US account).
Step 3: Go back to the other incognito tab with the increased offer, then hit the apply button.

Hope it helps out someone who might be looking to apply for an increased Amex US offer but worried of going via the Nova reporting route.

I received email from chase last night and the message is reviewing my application in 30 days. I also called the automated lines and message is also 30 days. Does this mean they have received my faxed document and start to process my application again?

Yes I got the same message after sending docs. If no issue, you should be approved soon. :D

Thanks again for your information and help!
Finally approved while on the phone with the agent. Credit limit is 5200 only, which is just above the lower limit of csp. The agent cannot verify me with sms as I am using gv. She verified me with dob instead this time. She put me on hold about 10 mins. She asked what credit cards I have now and the credit limits. Interestingly my current total credit limit is 5300 from boa and Amex. It looks like a match to my existing credit limit. Looking forward to receiving my first chase credit card!

Congrats. Yes Chase likes to see limit you have with other banks. ie min limit for CSR is 10k so it helps if you have 10k limit with other banks first. I was approved CSP for 9.5k only. Limit with Citi and Amex is over 30k each. Chase normally won't give you combined credit limits over half of your yearly income. Good thing is if you are denied in the future, you can call recon and ask them move credit limit from other cards.

I am 4/24 now. To help I can get approved for the second chase card in the future should I increase existing card limit on my boa card and Amex card? Is it hard pull when ask to increase credit limit?

I’ve got both my US Amex cards on ApplePay and no one notices or says a thing about them.

The Green card looks like a classic Amex and even if they were to look at my screen they wouldn’t know. Sometimes eg for online purchases, I do need my physical card but at POS situations, ApplePay works a treat.

I use it most on public transport in NSW as my Opal card replacement on ApplePay too. Will need to rethink that strategy if a surcharge is applied to it as a foreign card.
Did you get the 3 points / dollar spend on NSW opal

Yep. Same with dining including my most regular coffee shop. I have found that road tolls don’t attract the 3x category though. Same with most service stations I’ve visited.

Not sure about other banks but Chase definitely hard pull. Chase might give you an increase automatically after using the card for a while or when you update your income in the future. I won't worry about the limit for now. You already started a relationship with Chase so it should be easier. I think only CRS requires 10k and since you only just got CSP, you won't be able to get CSR bonus for 4 years so you won't be applying for the card any time soon. You also cannot have 2 sapphire cards at the same time.

When you plan to apply your second chase? I plan to apply after 6 months. Either Marriott or Hyatt, which requires 5k. For the future card can I move csp below 5k if hard to get approved for the second card?

Which service station can give 3x?

I don't think you can move it below 5k but I could be wrong. Maybe second card (Hyatt or IHG) early next year. Can't get Marriott as I have to wait 24 months from Amex one for bonus. Other cards aren't that interesting to me. I find Chase cards a bit overrated.

I also think we cannot drop below 5k but someone said you can. I will find out to confirm. In regards to the 24 months bonus rule is it because you got the Amex Marriott personal card or Amex business card?

Yes I got a business card from Amex a few months back. Personal one (Bonvoy Brilliant) will also prevent you from getting bonus from Chase until after 24 months.

That means you can get Amex personal Marriott firstly as soon as practical and wait for 24 months to get chase Marriott.
