Strategy to obtain US Amex

Newly applied Ink. Put 2K USD over a bunch of different things over the past few weeks. This morning tried to put something through and it was declined.

Apparently it was flagged for review. Verified over the phone. They were reviewing that I was actually in possession of the card.

Turns out my phone had a "can't connect to this network notification" which I didn't notice. Going into the APN settings for the eSIM appeared to fix it (didn't even change the settings). Ironically the next time I called up they verified the card without even giving me a call.

Confirming that this works. After signing up initially it still failed, but it kicked me out to a slightly different page and I was able to successfully sign up after re-entering my details.

Anyone have any DPs on sending a Chase Authorised User card to Australia?
I assume that you tried out the Chase account profile hack and it worked ?
Did you manage to use your ITIN to log in ?
And is the phone number to activate your card an automated one ? Or you had to get a real person to activate your card ?

Yes, I used the "hack" and it worked with my ITIN. I called and spoke to a person to activate my card, don't think there's an automated way to do it. From what I read you have to activate your card prior to making an account but it may be possible to do the reverse.

Thanks so much for the helpful reply. It is great that the hack worked.

Applied online and was basically approved in a day or so due to my premier accounts in oz and uk. Received an email asking what the account was required for and I replied with "to facilitate potential investments"

So I resubmitted my US HSBC application (I think it was the passport id problem that got it auto-rejected first time), and received an email asking for detailed answers to:

“You listed on the application that you were self-employed. Could you please provide the following details about your employment?
  1. How do you plan on using this personal banking account?
  2. What type of transactions will be conducted on this account?
  3. Can you clarify your business and job duties you perform?
  4. Does your business have a website, if so what is it?
  5. Do you currently have a business account?
  6. Will any of your business- related activity be used for the US account?”

Has anyone else had this kind of cavity search, and any suggestions for vanilla answers ?

I don’t know if ‘to facilitate potential investments’ will be enough !!

See my response above. I had similar questions, even asking on how I deposit into this account i.e. cash/transfer I simply replied transfer from oversea as my main source of income is from remotely working for Australian company.

So did you say you were planning on living in the US but working remotely for an Aus company ?

I have already said I’m not planning on living there

For what its worth, you appear ahead of this than me. Submitted my application last week, radio silence since. Will call when they open.

Is it ok if I apply for my chase card with my Australian address in my existing chase profile ? Or do I need to switch it to my us address ?

I told them I will be living/travelling in both countries while trying to relocate to US, Working remotely atm.

I put my US address on the application for the Ink Cash. It was instantly approved and i called immediately to ask them to send it to "my family's place" in Australia.

For Maza, think the main requirements are. US app store, US VPN, and GPS location within 50metre of your home. Once you have those 3 sorted it should be all good.

For the payment side of things. The credit cards are hit and miss. Could be a variety of reasons being rejected. From the credit card company declining cause its a suspicious charge to maza just not liking the card. Best to use an american card and set the billing address to the US address.

When signing up to Maza have people used their American or Australia mobile numbers?

Thanks. When subscribing through the app was all of the text during the payment etc in Spanish? I assume no way to change this to English. Just use Google translate I guess?
