Pepper is very sensitive. You need to sign up/use the account from an American IP, and not one associated with a popular/public VPN.

How do we know if we are using popular/public VPN? IS there anything I could do?

Have people succeeded in getting a CLI on the Amex US cards? Tried applying for one and got rejected - said they couldn't locate my credit file (to be fair just did a Nova Credit application and this was ~90 days in).

If you're using a regular VPN, you're likely to run into trouble with Pepper.

You need to be connecting through a person's regular home internet (eg a friend/family member via Tailscale) or purchase what's called a 'residential proxy'.

Yes a redelivery will generate a new card number and immediately cancel the old card

Just found out that Chase has a FHR-like portal called "the edit" (does edit mean something in american english that makes the name make sense?) Where you can get Hotel loyalty points+status on bookings, plus 10x chase points back on bookings.

Anyone with a CSR can have a look and pm me/post a list of some more example Hyatt/Marriott properties that are on the edit? If there is a reasonable range of non-ultra lux, non-price gouged properties (im not spending 2k per night on raffles every trip to singapore) then this greatly elevates the CSR in my opinion. If you are booking on Marriott as an e.g. gold member you get 12.5x Marriott pesos +10 chase points worth 15% redeemed on the portal (e.g. for future the edit bookings!!) You might be getting approx 20% off bookings at some hotels.


Edit: never mind it looks like the edit isn't 10x points, not sure what the points multiplier is though

I wish I read this half a day earlier. Signed up for Pepper yesterday morning with a NordVPN connection instead of my private VPN and get payments declined on that account. Signed up for another account later with my private VPN and another phone number only to get it deactivated immediately after trying to verify my identity. Most likely because you can only have 1 account. It also looks like there is no option to delete your account to try again?

Not sure of current approvals process. I've heard they've significantly tightened it up as people were signing up for new accounts for the new user bonus. You might be able to try with new details (new phone/email/etc), but the only option might be to submit a support ticket and wait.

Yeah I had that issue too. Been trying with emulators, different devices and it results in a lot of inconsistent flaky behavior.

Just tried a residential proxy as levelnine suggested, but when the proxy is active most functionality is not working (e.g., receiving SMS to log in, adding a new card..). Probably a skill issue on my side .

I sent support a message for my second account that I created with my private VPN (hopefully its "private" enough), lets see if that works. Otherwise its a pass for me for now unfortunately.

Anything you can personally use. Pepper has tanked the resale market — the biggest users get offered bigger discounts, so you'll take a healthy loss as a casual reseller of Pepper gift cards.
