You can try but after 3 months application will expire. if that's 6 months ago, try new application.

OK - so I will log in and apply and ticket yes to authorise AMEX NAB to release my data to US site and then call the number with the new application ref...address I will give is the one I got from 1Postal...

Not sure if you have gone through the thread lately but it seems maybe your a bit unsure of process or I have misunderstood you. Most of us are using our Aus Amex relationship to get a US Amex via Global transfer.
Usually steps are US bank account, US address and then apply

Yes tick "YES" to authorise to release your data and fill the application details.
say no SSN put your Australian passport details (I believe you don't have SSN),
and submit.
you will get the decision after that. Instantly approve or AMEX ask you to call them.
you will see result once submit application properly.

I would personally hold off until you have a solid proof of address (Amex will want at least a 30 day statement from a bank). This is a fun game - but patience is the name of the game! Rushing things slows you down

Have a friend wanting to join the game - he has multiple Amex’s here, has a US address, but no US bank account as yet. He doesn’t have HSBC Premier. Short of applying for Premier here - is there an easier way for him to get a US account and statement outside of HSBC? His WISE has a US address (as a business) but i said to him that likely wouldn’t work

I believe they ask you to provide proof of address; I was in same situation, I tried may time didn't work, but calling this number 866 929 5160 I only provide AU Amex card number and approved. but before they will verify you asking application number and name and US address, be ready for that.
Try tonight, few people I know got approved calling this umber.

Is this for a us Amex via GT ? How will one have an application no if one one is applying over the phone ?

Not if he doesn’t have an itin .

Sometimes if you open an hsbc account over phone they upgrade you to premiere right away without having to meet conditions . One can ask .
