Strategy to obtain US Amex

Looking at closing P2's Aus Platinum as soon as I can transfer her MR to her newly minted Green; unfortunately will be after the next Aus Platinum annual fee is charged.

Does Amex generally refund this pro-rated if you cancel early enough ? Or once it's charged it's charged and we have to keep it for another year ?
They will refund within month of charge

I signed up for Tello about Aug 2024. Been receiving message with someone name - did not think of it. But today signing up for Bilt Reward program and using that phone number - logging with OTP sent to phone number then saw account already signed up with name Daniel Ruffo and his email.

What should I do?

The US recycles phone numbers very quickly. A fact of life.

Nothing to do on Tello's end. If you contact Bilt, they should be able to give you a new account using your phone number.

My CSP (not new card - got the card Nov 2024) got declined at terminal for just under $100. I used my Google Wallet. Called Chase, after verification process they said they needed to call my Tello number to verify me. I never receive the phone call. Called back. The 2nd agent said the same thing - to call my Tello. I still did not receive their phone call.

What is happening with this please? Cant they call my Tello? Anyone got the same problem - Chase rep cant call Tello number?

Tested. It's working from Talkatone phone
Unusual; I've no dealings with Chase yet, but I have had several instances where GV is not accepted/working but Tello always has

Shouldn't make a difference, but maybe try calling from a non-VOIP service (eg an Aussie mobile operator) and see if it works ?

Best not to use mobile wallets when card is new .

I agree, I used ApplePay to make a purchase to OW (admittedly for $A2k to get started on the SUB spend but it got declined and all my Chase accounts frozen. Glad the banker from the branch remembered me so reactivated everything without me having to go into the branch.

I’ve been using the physical card in the majority of instances and ApplePay for smaller purchases (just paid for my coffee byApplePay).

Was going to apply for an Ink card in the next few months but might just let sleeping dogs lie atm. Or should I still apply?

I try to apply my 3rd US AMEX as "Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant" but I'm getting you are not eligible to receive the welcome offer, anyone had similar experience? try to do Global transfer.
I got AMEX GOLD and Hilton Honors American Express Surpass

If it’s your third it shouldn’t make a difference if GT or not as you have a US history and they are probably assessing you on that.

It looks like you are in PUJ unfortunately
Maybe search around for a NLL link and see if that gets around it
