Do you ever get stupidly cheap reward seats showing up ?

What happens in situations like this, is it just a freak event, are they trying to fill the plane, or is it something that happens often?

I'd suggest that's another error as a result of VA's transition to Sabre (or maybe EY's transition if it's on their metal) rather than an attempt to fill up the flight. From what I've read here VA seem to have honoured similar fares (the sub-$100 HBA-DPS in J as an example) but they've obviously got significantly more to lose here so it would be interesting to see what happens if you book it...

Interesting routing, in effect two international trips!

the flight is from MEL - with 2 stops ,
for $104. :\

ok what about if I did this, ....
I booked it, then didn't show up for the MEL-> 2 stop leg

Would they still let me on the final leg of the flight

Considering you get SC on the PE to NZ and back, I would take it!

the flight is MEL - NZ , 6 hour layover, NZ - SYD, then SYD - direct to AUH

for $104. :\

ok what about if I did this, ....
I booked it, then didn't show up for the MEL-NZ leg, i just took a direct flight to sydney,

Would they still let me on the SYD-AUH leg of the flight?
If its one flight booking, then being a no-show for the first segment (MEL-NZ) will cause all subsequent sectors to be cancelled. That is normal operating procedure for airlines.

Virgin Australia is about to notice a spike in Reward Booking searches for flights between MEL and [destination redacted] I suspect...

I give up, it's just not worth fighting the stupid website

Technical Error

We're sorry, we've encountered a technical error in our system and cannot continue with your transaction. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please call us at 1-800 for assistance

Who mentioned VS. PE is premium economy and SC is status credits, which would be a good haul on that flight.

that sux

Oh well I booked it, 13,100 pts, if i don't end up using it doesn't cost me anything anyway.
Can they reneg on the deal?

It said "premium reward" when I booked it but now it says

": Cabin Class: Reward Seat" is that still the same thing?

Agreed. Strongly suggest the OP remove their post and speak to lobo76 ASAP re the sheet ;)

hehe am I to assume that finding a route like that is a golden ticket into the sheet even though the (loose) criteria previously established are not met? All in favor, say 'aye' :D

I can't find this routing by the way... tried random dates April-June... gone already?

Aye.

Because, neither can I! ;)

I've found the outbound but as I expected not an inbound. If I could find something similar coming back I'd go just for sh*ts and giggles but other than that I've no desire to visit *that particular destination*.
