See this is where the spreadsheet doesn't work........because the new people don't know about it and couldn't get access to it (based on the 'rules") anyway.

Good job eckorock - I hope that you enjoy your trip

Tempting, but with the rtn up in the air I'd rather shuttle back and forth between DOM destinations to get the required SC. Unless you really want to go to A54...

Nope.. not yet. Refer notes in spread sheet.

There are a few dates left if you look. I don't want to list here and don't have access to the spreadsheet.

Availability is going fast though!

what is this spreadsheet you speak of ?
the SC master spreadsheet or something?

I"m not doing this for status credits btw guys... i figure its about as cheap a way to get to Europe for a holiday in a premium reward class...

The status credits haul is pretty significant, instant Silver and close to halfway to Gold.

The spread sheet was set up by lobo in Google Drive to list "golden opportunities" like this. It was created as there was a concern, seeing this is a publicly-visible forum, VA were able to use the information identified here to close loop-holes/mistakes in the new booking system, such as this one. It was agreed that there would be some criteria in granting access to the spread sheet so that VA didn't just create a new account, request access, and foil the very thing we were attempting to prevent.

The details for access are buried somewhere deep in the NEW Velocity master status run thread... you've gotta be on the ball to keep up with these things ;)

BTW anyone who got on this route, PM me your dates maybe we r on the same flight.
peace.

Yep. Did a search and found it. Now PMed that person for access. Great concept.

But having said that with Edison Junior around I won't be going around to AUH (or anywhere) anytime soon.

I'd suggest that's another error as a result of VA's transition to Sabre (or maybe EY's transition if it's on their metal) rather than an attempt to fill up the flight. From what I've read here VA seem to have honoured similar fares (the sub-$100 HBA-DPS in J as an example) but they've obviously got significantly more to lose here so it would be interesting to see what happens if you book it...

A friend was able to book and subsequently change the dates on a briefly lived mistake fare (covered by 14 CFR 399.88) last week. Seems to me that VA are honouring these fares. Could well be that SABRE (or their liability insurance) is picking the tab if these fares are a direct result of the recent systems upgrade.

So because its a premium booking does that mean the dates are flexible hence I can change the date/time with no extra point or $ cost ? Or am i misunderstanding things

If you try to change the dates I wonder whether they might hit you with the fare difference once they pick up on the error and change the points cost to what it should be (Velocity rewards seats | Virgin Australia)?
