Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

My first and most likely my last ever ASA.

Jun 14 | Dec 14 | J+F | SYD-MEL-LHR | 192,000 | $810.93 | $10* | 261,552 | 460SC

Oh and after employing HUCA on two operators, the third managed to put it through in 10mins but that's because I wanted to double check the cancellation policy and had a bit of a yarn about it hahah. The booking process itself probably took ~5mins.

Edit: *I was quoted $810.93 by the CSA ($29.50 more than the quote I got yesterday) but my bank account statement says $820.93 was taken so I assume the CC fee is $10.

Also the Classic co-pay was $600.02 if anyone is interested in that.

Jun 14 | Jul 14 | J | MEL-SYD | 16,000 | 104.78 | 35.28 | ? | 40

All done in 5min, combined with a JQ35 Yplus booking will have me scraping over the 1200SCs for 2014

Interestingly operator said they hadn't been doing as many MASAs as expected

You gotta love it when the operator says "I know what you're talking about". Few more bookings and no more points left :D

Hint: MEL-ADL-ASP-ADL-MEL for the NSW Labour day long weekend is still available, I think, along with other dates.

I wish to thank those who organised and contributed the spreadsheet. I was too late with my bookings to do so.

I left all my mASA bookings until today and the above doesn't add to what was already known.

I think I was hoping QF might change their mind or start a DSC offer. :(

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

11.51 On hold for 3min already !!

Hold on! It took me about 5ish mins to get through just before.

Incidentally, the guy told me he hadn't booked one of these in months, and tried earlier today to convince someone to book it this way instead of a Classic award - to no avail. He also said this would be the third time he had been made redundant while at QF.....

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

I will add the last flights to the spreadsheet shortly. It certainly took off this last month as people squeezed the last out of their points balances.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to post the details of their bookings. They became part of a great resource used by many to plan trips, gain or retain status. It just goes to show how great this forum is with so many willing to share.

Cheers to medhead for starting the thread in the first place.

With all the discussion threads available about mASAs, I will leave it up to the mods to close this thread if they choose.

And as they say in the classics, "That's all folks".

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Thanks Jessica Tam and medhead!

I'm not sure I can claim much credit. But thank you all the same. ;)

For me Markis10 and Serfty really opened my eyes to MASA and Shintaro10X was a driving force in promoting them. At least that's how I recall things.

Anyway, I've already found my next opportunity. If I even fly with QF much any more.
