Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Nov 13 | Apr 14 | F for int sectors, J for dom sector | LHR > SYD > ADL | 192,000 | $1,508.70 + CC fee $30 | 480 SC

Rang the platinum line and spoke to John. He seemed a little unsure at first but was easily guided in the right direction. All went swimmingly until he said "yes we know platinum members like these because they earn their status credits, but I think they're going to be phased out":shock:

You mean 420 SCs ? LHR-SYD one way in F should be 360 SCs plus another 60 for the SYD-ADL ?

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

When I put it into the QF points earning calculator it told me 420 for LHR DXB SYD in F. I don't really care actually, either way I will be well and truly over the line to LTG by then so the QF/OW shackles will be off.

If you break the flight in DXB (either change flight number or stopover) it is 420, or straight through it is 360.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Managed to book Syd to Townsville via Brissie return in J for 48k pts plus ~$350 cash. Guy initially had no idea about the MASA's and insisted I could do it online. I asked him to check his system for an ASA anyway and he found the flights I wanted with the MASA pts. Still insisted I could do it online, so I asked him to try it and after 10 minutes he realised he couldn't and waived the phone booking fee.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

I have formatted the data into a Google Docs spreadsheet up to this post using the format:

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin | Route | Points cost | Co-pay* | Classic co-pay~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned

* Indicate if CC fee included
~ If known

Please PM me any suggestions you have to improve it, to save this thread becoming distracted from its intended purpose.

This is the link to the Google Docs spreadsheet
which is able to be viewed by all (but not edited).

No other information is to be posted, please use the other threads for this, just keep this thread to factual information only
