Suites savers now available

Managed to book first & suites from sin - hkg return for the better half & her sis later this year. Neither have flown first before (nor have I for that matter) so hopefully it'll be a great experience for them.
i just need some advise on seat selection. Outbound flight is on 777-300er (sq2) & return is a380-800 (sq863). Any advise would be greatly appreciated. :)

Then all all I need to do is do a bit of research on the first class menu and give that to them prior to departure.

So I'm guessing the next days flights open up sometime during our night time. Possibly at midnight Singapore time. When I went to bed last night the furthest ahead I could book was Thursday, 11 May 2017. This morning I can see Friday, 12 May 2017. However I've noticed that just because I can search that flight, R saver availability doesn't appear on ANY flights other than for waitlist. The same thing happened to me when the 11th initially became available. I then waited a day later and there was saver R availability everywhere, no longer waitlist. So I'm not sure if maybe SQ initially doesn't show saver availability unless you have status? Or perhaps they just don't let the saver seats out until X amount of hours after the flights are initially open for booking. Going to keep searching once every couple of hours to see if I can lock down a timeframe for when they open. Give myself the best chance of getting those seats in under 2 weeks haha.

There's no new J coming for the A380 is there?

Currently got LAX-NRT-SIN-MEL booked x 2 for next year and was hoping there might be a revised product by then?

Think I'm on the 777 SIN-MEL as it is. Was hoping to get F but no space at the moment.

Ok just searched for R and J saver availability again for the 12th of May 2017 (furthest ahead you can book) and there is heaps of availability across all flights. I last did a search at around 1100 ACST, it's now 1420 ACST. So somewhere in that 3 hour window they added saver availability. Will try and narrow it down even more in the next couple of days and then check for consistency. Will be handy for people to know what time they add saver availability for as far ahead as you can book. Well for people with no status at least. It may be a few hours earlier if you have status, I won't be able to confirm.

Thanks for doing the leg work and sharing the result. Cheers.

No worries! Will report back in the next few days with my progress. Figure if we can lockdown a consistent time each day that saver seats become available, it will be very beneficial to myself and others in the future.

Ok a lot of saver reward availability just opened. Been checking almost every 30min since 9. At 1230AEST, R saver availibility opened up on a lot of flights in and out if Singapore, along with a lot of J availability. There are still some flights showing as waitlist which I believe may be unlocked if you have some status with KF. Will keep an eye and see if I notice when those flights (if at all) add saver availability. Specifically the flight I want, Paris to Singapore, definitely added availability at 1230AEST. So I will be logged in at that time on Sunday 5th of June. Will also check for consistency with this in the next few days.

Thanks for the data point.

Ok so my hypothesis is now ruined haha. Just did a search for flights and there is R saver availability for Sunday 14 May already. So no idea what time they added that after the 14th opened up... Going to require a lot more checking to try and figure this out I think.. Might even be random each day.

I have also struggled to find rhyme or reason here.
It seems to make a difference if there is a connecting flight; it seems to delay the availability of the whole thing.

Today 8 out of the 12 suites were occupied so I used two. One for a bedroom and the other for dining and movies.
There was a chef on board as a passenger. His specs are the way I recognized him and I left him to his double bed privacy.
Now I went Krug, caviar with icy vodka and the French red because I could. Mrscove went the water as usual.
I do love SQ Suites.SQ service is better than other carriers.

Did he have the double bed to himself?
Would be interested to know what someone in his position would eat and drink onboard (yes, I know Anthony Bourdain does neither) and what they think of it.

Always great to read your continued appreciation even after so many flights in suites, Cove. My enthusiasm hasn't dampened either - I'm in the TPR right now contemplating what to have for dinner, and then second dinner - considering I'm on the 00:45 to SYD. There are worse ways to pass the time!

He had a lady on board.
I don't think he did Book The Cook but it is hard to tell. The crew on SQ knew who he was and their service is good for everybody so you don't have to worry if you are a nobody like me. I didn't have competition for the Krug and I think we both had the French red as it is lovely.

"a nobody like me".....surely not Cove....HG

In the kitchen I max out at doing a toasted ham, cheese and tomato. I feel confident I haven't used the oven in multiple places as dining out can be so convenient.
There is currently no Krug nor caviar at our home in Perth so going SQ is a treat.

The French red is indeed lovely - I enjoyed some on the way back to MEL yesterday.

i met heston in TPR a while back - was with his wife(?) Cruiser will be disappointed to know he skipped the PH and instead went for the chablis.

Cove
Was it Chateau Estonel or Pichon Le Lande?
