No one here has any experience with waitlist on these routes?

Hi boomy
sorry just read your posts.
Re your SIN -ICN. My understanding is that only one 77W services this route per day the rest are A330. No A330's have first on so your only option for first on this leg is the 77W. Unfortunately it's also a leg which runs PE and that means only 4F seats on the bird. I have been following SIN MUC since the new 4F 77W's have taken over the route a not a single saver F offered. Now I know this is not total proof but SQ are a bit notorious for not offering saver F on the flights with 4F. Hopefully you prove me wrong and your waitlist come thru

Thanks for the reply Danger. I've made plan B bookings in J just in case F won't come thru.

If you actually sleep in them, there's your problem. I swan around the house in mine taking the occasional turn around the garden in them too.

I travel quite light and this last trip had to get my pullover drycleaned becaus eof a spill. The SQ PJs top was a great substitute for a day out touring museums. Nobody was any the wiser. Except me of course.

I have 2 F savers booked from SIN to SFO via ICN.(50% of the seats) They do exist, but I was not on a waitlist, just booked as soon as bookings opened.

Well, we are home again after an awesome trip. Our waitlist cleared Friday morning so we got suites all the way LHR-SIN-SYD. I am ruined for any future travel. ( J class Etihad on the way over was also very, very good)

Downsides -My IFE wasn't working on the LHR-SIN leg and we couldn't swap to 2 C and D as the IFE wasn't working in 2D either. Bit of a bugger, as I couldn't snuggle up in that huge bed with Mr Heg and watch a movie. We were also a toilet down, which made for a bit of a rush after breakfast.

As a side note -we are both vegan and the meals were excellent. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Washed down by the odd vat or two of Krug.

Glad to hear to your meal was done well. The IFE not working in Suites class is a little worrying. Were you offered anything in the way of compensation?

I look forward to catching up on movies so no IFE entertainment would be a great disappointment on a long sector.

Heg - would be interested to see whether you got compensated by SQ for these non-working things..

They gave me $200 SGD in vouchers to spend on anything from the inflight shop, however we have also put in a complaint via a feedback form on the SQ website.

Hi all,

New to KrisFlyer, and was wondering if there were any particular routes with Singapore Airlines, which you would consider better/value for points?

A good place to start is the kris flyer award chart. Reading across the zones you'll see for example that Australia to Europe 1 (zone 11 - which includes Amsterdam) is much cheaper than flying to London or Paris.

The chart can be found here: https://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/charts/SQMI_OneWayAwardCharts.pdf

Thank you very much MEL. I had a feeling that would be the case. On that note, are there usually particular flight #s or plane model I should be looking at that are better than the other?

Only real difference is the 773s (for F), between the 777-300 and 777-300ER with 2006 product, 77WRs with 2013 product, and 77WNs with small first class and 2013 product. SQtalk has more info: SQ Fleet - Page 15 - SQTalk. The A380 hard product is standardised.

Thank you Plutonus. I had a look at that thread and it will be a big help. Only thing is, what is the difference between 2006 and 2013 product?

Look for the extra flights for 'free'. Eg you pay the same price for SYD-SIN as you do for SYD-SIN-HKG - so there's value to be had out there.

I'm looking to book suites MNL-SIN-SYD for late April next year.

Bookings are showing up to the 10th at the moment.

I am unable to see any F on the segment MNL-SIN, but J is open most days as is R from SIN to SYD.

Once my dates are loaded, if I ring and do a mixed booking J MNL-SIN and R SIN-SYD, am I able to waitlist F MNL-SIN, R SIN-MNL as one booking?

@deka2 - yes - call and add waitlist to your booking when you make the mixed class booking - only one service daily MNL-SIN with F - dep about 2pm by memory

Thanks Cruiser Elite, just wasn't sure if you are able to waitlist the same flight as you have booked.
