I'm in F (O) class so can I guest 1 - if anyone else is around? But, more importantly, can I get into the Senator?

LH operates three classes of lounges. Business class lounges - for business class pax without status (the lowest level lounge). This is followed by the Senator Lounges - which are for economy and business class star gold status holders, and other star alliance F class pax. The top lounges are the LH (and LX) First lounges. These are only accessible by LH and LX F class pax (or passengers connecting to or from LH/LX F) and HON status members. Star alliance F class don't have access.

So yes you have access to the senator lounge - some are nicer than others. But they are essentially business class standard.

+61 2 8228 1188 - takes you straight through to SIN call Ctr - all staff in SQ SIN call Ctr handle both Comm and Rdpt bookings - your incoming call to them will indicate which inquiry you are making - call this and ONLY this number every time.

Thanks mate, it was the number I called throughout this afternoon. Apparently, all the redemption bookings agents were busy...

The current agent who I've been on the phone with for 40mins seems to making some headway at least. I think I'm going to go crazy if she can't solve it for us.

So I finally got off the phone thinking everything was sorted, it looks like I've got 1 confirmed leg and 1 waitlist leg... not sure if I want to spend another 40mins on the phone tonight.

Stupid question, what happens if we pay for this reserved booking when our other sectors are waitlisted?

Apologies for the spam on this thread from me, just a little stressed about resolving this.

NDiddy is MEL's assessment of ZRH Senator Lounge on the money?

I was referring to the Senator lounges in FRA, but the same rule applies to ZRH... they are not LX's F class offering, they are business class/star gold. A marked contrast to SQ's star gold offering at Changi though.

I think the general consensus is the Air Canadia lounge at FRA trumps Senator offerings there.

That is good to know. I rate Senator lounge in FRA a notch better than QF domestic J lounges (which makes it pretty good compared to typical lounges in EU/US). Sounds like AC lounge should be pretty decent then. I'll seek out AC lounge next time I'm at FRA...

The SEN lounges in FRA are a bit bare, a bit brash. For anyone interested here's a review of one of the FRA SEN lounges https://traveluxblog.com/2015/11/09/lounge-review-lufthansa-senator-lounge-frankfurt-b/ - which makes it look an awful lot better than the similar review by Lucky in onemileatatime:

The above happened to me 3 times, but I think this is during peak call periods for them. I've made over a dozen calls to try and get something to work for our trip and it was only on those 3 calls during the day - they do call back but it might be at a pretty late hour Sydney time.

With a Europe/Syd redemption - is it possible to make it multi-legs so you can enjoy the experience (and lounges) for longer?

So say Paris/Munich/Frankfurt to Tokyo, then Tokyo to Singapore, then Sing/Syd - for the same redemption points cost as Europe/Sing/Syd?

Haven't looked yet to see what is possible but chose Tokyo at random - just on basis of extra Asian stop (& flight & lounge) to enjoy the experience before arriving back to reality.

Sipping vintage Verve in the SQ F lounge in SYD on way to CDG

Eggs Benedict and Duck pancakes to start the day.

Suites here we go (again) ! ;)

I'm watching currently but havent worked out what time they appear...

For F they usually appear the same day you can select the date on the calendar (~350 days out). I've seen a few when I was recently booking for June next year.

J is much more variable and seems to be released closer to the flight date.

Any idea on time of day though?

maybe check the SQ tips and tales thread - i'm sure someone did the same exercise just recently and shared the results.

i know i booked mine at 350 days going JFK-SYD. rare as hen's teeth! particularly for 2 pax.

I think the result was time varies, like it is manually put in rather than an automated system at a set time.

There is no set day / time of day for upload of award inventory across SQ network - different ports will upload at different times - indeed some ports do not upload inventory on busier routes / days - such as JFK-FRA-SIN vv - Sundays and Fridays in particular are extremely rare.

Best approx. I can ever get is about 353 days out - eg MEL-SIN-ZRH today available up to 24/06/2017. But it is no exact science - last night I booked 2 x F Savers MEL-SIN-ZRH 19/06/2017 - return flts I will have to wait 10 days or so - it does require checking each day.
