any tips for doing a 'high level' search instead of clicking next day each time?

Previously the app had the +-7 days, which could be used to search weekly and they removed it :(

Any tips on how to snag a reward seat (or two) to JFK?

Hi blackcat20 I helped a friend book 2 F savers syd-sin-fra-jfk for their honeymoon, and it was a completely random event. They had approximate dates, and it just worked out, I was surprised and made them book it on the spot. Usually when I have looked for flights to JFK from Aust for F savers they didn't even have flights to waitlist let alone book.

But I do have a few tips

1) try booking SIN-JFK first instead of AUS-SIN-JFK
2) look at SIN-FRA, and FRA-JFK and if there is avaliability, call and organise a stop over for $100US
3) if you are prepared to take a hit in points, it is a lot easier to book 1 x saver and 1 x standard

Just this week I managed to book a USA flight for my wife and I in January. The itinerary is PER-SIN-SFO on the new A350, then I will have to make my way to New York somehow for a first flight JFK-FRA-SIN. Annoyingly there are no flights SIN-PER, so I had to waitlist a whole bunch of flights and hope for the best.

I'm guessing Suites bookings will be harder to come by now that Amex is going crazy again and giving away millions of Velocity points. Particularly from Places like Sydney :o

Amex is offering some large sign up bonuses (and referral bonuses) which people may use for SQ redemptions, putting pressue on availability.

Nothing really new in that market. I think it's just a matter of people getting more into the game. Good luck to them.. Suites is so 2007 anyway :D Note: I have not flown suites haha

I could not unwind a partially used booking to upgrade a friend to Suites as a blast for her birthday. I will book one ways in future.

Have one in Suites tomorrow and another on Tuesday. These two are not surprises this time. Going over was the big surprise.
Have created one more fan of Krug.

I'm watching currently but haven't worked out what time they appear...

During the fun and games booking suite savers earlier this week I had a fruitful talk with several of the Krisflyer cc staff.

One point that two made clear is that there is A LOT of wait listing done on the long dated suite saver seats because certain customers have a habit of booking up to a dozen seats (or pairs) over a month - say Th/F/Sa for 4 weeks running and then when they make up their mind - 11 seats reappear as if by magic. Implied that these are 'special' customers who either suffer no penalty for holding the seats or don't care about the penalty.

I was assured that there is no week view or month view available but right clicking on the previous day or next day at the very bottom of the page so you open multiple tags is one way to speed things up in the search.

Good luck.
BTW - the Silver Kris lounge does not sound that special in Singapore - is it really as described on the SIA web page? No sit-down dining just buffet/warm snacks?

Did you manage to book yours already? I've been trying for the past couple of weeks and haven't had any luck.

Would be rather nice if those people who are booking multiple days for 4 weeks running would release them sooner rather than later...

Yes, booked with ease for F ow from CDG to SYD in June 2017. There were a lot of seats available (we were looking for pairs) and on some days there were 3 flights open. The dates available are now out to June 28, 2017

You look via Krisflyer, as a rewards booking.

There were also plenty from MUC, FRA (didn't look at LHR).

May pay you to take a cheap LGA/Europe flight if you do want to be in the UK.

Leaving on a Friday (night especially) go very quickly (or are reserved perhaps).

You need to see what aircraft operate which flight as from MUC no A380s for example. DUS - A350 but no F on it.

I've been trying to get JFK to SYD like a few other members but in May, but seems pretty impossible at the moment.

There was availability for 1 date before I transferred my points, but by the time they arrived the seats disappeared :(

You cannot move it forward to June?

As Krisflyer have no charge for date change (pretty sure of that for F reward bookings) then you could lock in a definite date by choosing a possible June trip and then monitor May vert closely to see if seats come up to change to.

Not guaranteed but the June seats will start disappearing as well I suspect. SQ puts the seats up much further ahead than virtually all the others - so unless people are on the ball they start checking on the 330 day time frame. Where it literally seems to be a 355 day listing policy at the moment.

correct. big lounge, but often quite full. buffet selection is quite extensive, as is alcohol and TWG teas. (T3)

If by 'sit down dining' you mean waited table service then only TPR offers this - F and J are indeed buffet - plus F has chef working basically full time so you can really order anything you want - if they have ingredients they will prepare for you.

If by 'sit down dining' you mean table seating then yes ALL sections of SKL T3 in SIN have seating / dining tables - J has maybe 5 or 6 tables with 4 seats I think at each table at end in front of coffee machines - it has a long bench with maybe 10-12 stools each side up middle running from buffet area out to dining area and another bench toi the side of this - could be up to 50 seats / stools at tables / bench. F has a dozen tables in dining area and TPR has another 12 tables or so in dining area.

Have not been in F or J in T2 for like yonks so cannot really comment - I will get some pics of ALL areas in couple weeks and post.

It's not a 'bad' lounge - it's fairly good as far as they go. But it is huge, it is 'high density' seating (think domestic QF clubs in Australia, but with nicer chairs and decor). The buffet is reasonable - but it's buffet food.

As for sit down tables - as CE points out there are some - including a couple of long benches IIRC. But it's always a toss up between dining areas (limited time use) and lounging areas. Personally I prefer more room dedicated to lounge chair seating - IKEA tables and chairs, harsh tiled floors and neon lights are often a way to cram in more capacity (and feel little better than a cafeteria). (Although the SK doesn't have the harsh neon lighting!)

Eldest daughter last night had the option of Sydney to Toronto in four weeks either VA J to LAX and then DL F arriving same day or SQ F to SIN and R to JFK with DL in F direct to YYZ arriving the next day.
Despite her rating VA J ahead of CX and QF, she took the SQ option without a moments notice.
The pull of the SQ suites is quite amazing, even when involves $750 in fees coming out of her pocket.

DaveB we have the same in our family with niece,SIL ,2 sons, girlfriends , wife and myself all going Suites. I think it is the Krug but my wife just loves her own space.

I thought opening up multiple pages with the same IP address will error the additional tabs as you can only have one booking screen open?
