Suites savers now available

We now have two more coming to London for New Years Eve. They took First in Saver and are wait listing Suites which they may not get seeing we beat them to two Savers.

Mrs Lime and self over decades have been airline lounge hoppers (usually 3 hrs+), you had one alcoholic drink each in 5 hours :lol: yikes we drink a lot more without being sloshed :p.

Yeah, even on the plane, i just tried the champaign & from there on it was water.. Probably won't have another drink again this year, so largely it's wasted on me.. :mad:

That's probably why you find J sufficient enough ...... I think for most people J is enough. Not many people can differentiate between superfine and fine dining and drinking.

I look forward to try the new A350 J on SQ later this year, even though there are quite a number of people complaining about the foot rest for sleeping.

Dining on suites was good for sure, but it'd be a real stretch to say it was super fine dining. Great for food in the air, but it's hardly Vue de monde or quay quality food.
As for the grog, im largely a non drinker, so yeah - i can't discern $200 bottles from $50 or $100 bottles. :(

the key to the a350 seats is to get the bulkhead seats. Heaps of room without those nasty foot cubbies. I'm 6'1" & had space to spare when sleeping flat. Like the suites bed, i found the a350 bed too hard also. My partner shared this opinion.

I can differentiate but don't I think it's normally worth the stupid extra costs, the answer would be only rarely. At the sort of prices superfine dining charge you expect close to perfection and rarely find it hence have a lingering sense of dissapointment. Likewise I appreciate that F and J are different but not so much different I'll fly F all the time.

I tend to take a single leg F flight now and again but frankly don't see the value in many cases (particularly overnight flights).
 
You cannot be certain how long SQ will run their remaining A380s so picking a Suites run seems to be a great idea.

I think - at best - most airlines manage to serve good bistro style food (SQ included).

Cold food gives airlines a chance to shine... for example caviar, salads and desserts. But as they require no preparation in the air it's hard to go wrong. Given hot meals are prepared roughly 24 hours in advance, chilled, transported, reheated... tough call to call it even 'fine dining'.

Lufthansa and Swiss come close however.

Our deserts on suites had the hardest ice cream I have ever encountered. Both my partner & I could barely put a dent in the rock that was our ice cream.
Interestingly, I found the service to be very rushed. My partner who had flown suites before mentioned it was the same for her last time also.
Of course this is all nit picking & I very much preferred the experience over economy which is my usual travel mode when holidaying. :)
 
Dont forget there is no open flame cooking up in the sky. Only a convection microwave/oven, so you can only get so much out of that.

Food is ok. More options and better presentation they do better in first/business.

No doubt. It was my first premium cabin experience, so just went with the flow, but would definitely do that if I flew first again.
 
Finally had a reason to bite the bullet and get (I think) Suite Savers SYD - SIN - CDG. Main goal is Lyon for a conference then exploring a bit of Europe before coming home. Appreciate suggestions for a route back. Been reading with interest the ZRH - SIN - SYD route. We're flying in Jan/Feb 2018.

If you want to try their A350 then head home from DUS. Only J though.

The whisky bar in ZRH F lounge is reason enough to wish for a few hours delay on your flight. Flew ZRH-SIN-MEL in suites recently and it was awesome. If you can get it saver level, I'd say go for it and don't look back!

Thanks JessicaTam. I was just discussing that very thing with SO. We missed out on the AY A350 when they swapped it out on our HEL-HKG flight last year.

Love SQs J products so we will have figure out where we want to visit.

Hahaha. That was the other consideration tizey. SO said I'm becoming spoilt and may not want to go back to J. We have points to burn for Radisson as well so we could stay at the Radisson Blu for a few days.

It's coming down to the Senator Lounge or the A350.
 
I flew old SQ J on a 777 to MAN (and later on to IAH), and SQ J on an A350 back from AMS over Xmas.

Really liked the A350 but the lounge in AMS was pretty ordinary. I like the spaciousness of the A350 with the no centre bins. Of course an SQ F suite will be better.
 
Unless u get the bulkhead seats on A350 footrest is offset angled and not good
Rest of product is great but why they didn't get seats right is beyond me
