Unless u get the bulkhead seats on A350 footrest is offset angled and not good
Rest of product is great but why they didn't get seats right is beyond me
Flew CPT SIN inA 3550

I'll have to look out for that - I really liked the seat but I didn't notice that issue - I wasn't in a bulkhead.

The crew was exceptional too on that flight - best of the 5 SQ J flights over Xmas.

Just wondering if someone could advise us as to whether to pick row 2 or 3 in Suites for a couple?

I've read that row 3 might be a bit more private since row 2 is next to the stairs, but I let the KF agent select them when I was ticketing and she suggested row 2.

Any thoughts would be welcome as we have never flown J or F in Singapore before - this is a first for us, I'm burning a lot of our points in a round the world trip where I will be proposing :)

Edit: looks like I'll change them to 3C/D just in case the bassinet is requested on the day.

The stairs are actually forward of row 1. Row 3 is a good choice and as you mention, saves being moved if the bassinet is required.

Interesting experience booking an upgrade tonight. Did my homework and checked Saver availability prior to attempting a J to R upgrade from PVG-MEL. Operator said only Standard available but didn't sound as competent as others I've dealt with so did a HUATA. Same story from 2nd attempt so queried the info (explaining why). Put on hold and Bingo, it was possible. Then informed I was short on points which turned out to be correct and totally my fault. Having a parcel of 200k points already transferred but not showing, I asked if the flight could be held. No problem solving Sir, upgrade held, just need to call back to process when they hit my account. Once again, I am won over by SQ!!!!

Just boarded SQ217 to MEL. Suites predominantly empty. Feel very sorry for anyone who doesn't get a kick out of this level of luxury. I will never get sick of this!!!!

Same with us Ben6 .....we enjoy Suites and do it quite often. Seems a bit of a waste with Mrscove not being into all the drinks but a happy wife is a happy life.

Yes Krug is something I keep for my SQ flights. At home I go for Moët,Veuve and Billecart and occasional Taittinger.

How does Taittinger compare to krug or dom and also veuve? I've only tried krug and dom.

About 25% as good as Krug if you use retailers pricing. I am no big Taittinger fan and you can go Chandon with a crowd and it seems to be quite ok if you want to buy Australian.
Moet and Veuve are both quite popular so I try not to run out.

Which is more expensive? Krug or Dom Perignon? We had a glass of each recently, and i could not honestly tell the difference

Dom is quite ok and I only have one bottle of it at the moment. I go Krug when I get on board.

Personal taste should always be the biggie in decision making. I won't say no to Dom Perignon if they need help in SQ Suites.

Depends if you like Taittinger more than Krug or Dom. Then the Taittinger is better :)

(I know this is boring... but there is no champagne 'veuve'. Many champagnes have 'veuve' in their title... it means 'widow'... like calling a champagne 'mister'.)

Well Google thinks there is such a champagne as 'Veuve' - type in 'Veuve' then click on images - 1,000 of these:

MEL you will occasionally see deals posted in the various wine threads for 'Veuve' - I think most AFFers will totally associate 'Veuve' with this orange bottle - but all this OT so my apologies.

Indeed - same if you type in Quantas to google :p (but that seems to get an awful lot of people upset!)

The house refers to itself in all its promotions as 'Clicquot', not 'Veuve'.
