Suites savers now available

Indeed - same if you type in Quantas to google :p (but that seems to get an awful lot of people upset!)

The house refers to itself in all its promotions as 'Clicquot', not 'Veuve'.
Hilton BNE had a promo some years back and it was a "Veuve" promo. Can't remember the details but there was mini golf and if you got a hole in one, you received a free glass ... or something like that.

Did one have to be a "Veuve" to enter?

Another Suites journey booked for early 2018 :) Locking it in before the redemption changes kick in

Unfortunately for me the redemption changes kick in 10 days before I can book my trip for next year, with no option to change dates............bugger.

I feel your pain - I was hoping to book a first saver to JPY for early April 2018. Thats now a dead duck as havent got the points to do so, and will probably book out before I can get the balance up.

Here's hoping CX come to the party with availability in J to HKG, F to HND.

I got the email with the final details (and an example) from SIA this morning.

The scrapping of the 15% discount really does hurt however the scrapping of all surcharges makes it a little less bitter in the mouth.

Given that so many airlines really gouge (Q anyone) then SIA has really thrown down the gauntlet.

I was pleasantly surprised that rtn Y to anywhere in Europe from SYD for travel in peak Xmas school holidays was on-sale a few weeks back for under $1,500 all up.

Interesting what it implies (at cheapest prices) what the value per point is for Y. I knew the redemption for First was better value for money....

So I finally managed to book our flight back to SYD. Had been hoping to come back from ZUR but the Suite Savers were nowhere to be seen. The only one I could find to suite our dates coming back was from CDG so it looks like we'll be doing SYD-SIN-CDG-SIN-SYD.

And this after I got my hopes up for checking out the whiskey bar. I had been regularly looking at the availability since we were a week out and all appeared to be fine until the redemption changes were announced. I'm still scratching my head as to why CDG-SIN-SYD was still available where flights out of LHR, FRA (not surprised) and ZUR were out - not even waitlist available in some cases. Did I miss some memo?

And a lottery ticket to see if your Suite flight is upgraded to the New SIA Suites ..... Due to start late this year.

Are they rumoured to be better or worse? I haven't really kept up with the new suite gossip, but I seem to recall a reduction in the number of planes flying suites, but I can't recall if the newies are a step up ... or a step back.

True! I was just happy to snag the F savers. A pleasant surprise when I realised it was Suites

Do you know if the mileage price will change if you ticket it pre-devaluation and just change the date?

According to Mr. Elite it all comes down to testicular nerve endings, or something.

won't be changing under new system - technically if you can find availability extension window has no end date.

FTR - Bookings ticketed pre rdpt rate change can readily have flt date changed to future date without incurring ANY pts or $ penalty.

The only penalty you will incur is if you require cabin class change and if so original ticket will be cancelled with ALL pts and taxes already paid refunded in full and new ticket issued at revised rdpt rate - you will require to have sufficient pts in your KF acc to achieve this - this is UNEQUIVOCAL.

As for Flyer Talk - what a f'ing waste of time that site is - it is frequented by rude, arrogant, uninformed numb nuts - I will never post on that site again.

Infinity that is a bit of a long cut. Are you heading to South Africa to help fix their tourism numbers?

Yes off on Sunday on QF 64 to CPT
Adding a Mauritius side trip this time using SQ points on SAA then back in J A350 to SIN the F to SYD in new 77w
