Suites savers now available

Good idea to get all your F Suite A380 flights in before SQ changes the Suites to their newly released F product
I think the new F is going to find it's way onto the SIN-LHR route is it not? So maybe some of the 380s are going to disappear off that route - not too concerned about that as want to try new F anyway.

And YES - new J looks sensational - just hope SQ have finally realised aircraft seats are for SITTING in as well as sleeping and the new J will be greatly enhanced in that area - current J seats on 380 / 77W literal pain in the cough.

Agreed on the new J vs the new F.

In regards to the A380 Suites going this is from another forum-

The A380 will see F: not immediately but SQ has waived Suites goodbye already. They eating up ways too much space and are not able to fetch a premium. My guess is that the current Suites space will become Y and F will be 8 seats on the upper deck.

and

Some more good news: While Suites might actually get replaced at some point in time and that solution might be placed on the upper deck, it will not be the product shown today.

So it could be like how long is a piece of string in regards to when this might actually take place.

From a poster whom saw the seats at the presentation-

Business Class:

Very well done. Better seat padding, more choices how you wanna seat. The whole seat concept is more cozy. They also improved the bed padding a lot. A 2 cm thick comforter is now attached to the bed: very nice! All the unnecessary leather is gone and the whole concept is great. HD video screen in the best quality ever. Only thing that is not perfect: When you are seated, you don't have a lot legroom. In the lazy positions you have actually very limited room there. Taller person will prefer the sundeck mode and use the foothole.

The bulkhead seats will get a fix bench, no more up and down for departure and arrival: Those seats will be the very best business seats you have ever seen on SQ. The space difference to First Class will be very minimal.

So no more pain in the behind :)

I read that the suite's are staying put, plus would be a massive effort to re-fit when they don't need to be.

Looking at the new J... looks very nice and not much different to F.

That is what I read too:

[The suite] is quite unique to the A380 because of that particular plane, and the space within it, so that will remain', said Mak. 'What we have proposed today is a first class for the rest of the fleet, which is a good product for long-haul and for the aircraft type that we have.'

".... Currently, the (new J) seats will be fitted to eight new Boeing 777s, and will be rolled out in September (2013)..."

So, there is no change for the A380 J seats ?

My +1 has a booking in Sept 13 (SYD SIN) on a 777, hopefully it would be the new seating.

Looks less "spacious" than the previous version - more cosy.

OK, so I'm a "suites" virgin, so to speak, having until recently had the blinkers on a bit about where to distribute ill gotten points from ATO payments etc. But now that I have seen the light and started sending said points to SQ I have just booked my first suites redemption. Just a little cameo really, MEL-SIN for myself and Mrs 29.

My question is: to keep Mrs 29 really happy, which seats would people choose if travelling as a couple? I am sort of assuming the centre (C,D) seats. Or will she be happy anywhere?

We did 3A and 4A but you could go the middle seats and hold hands seeing it is your first go and you can see your partners excitement if you do the middle seats.

3C and 3D - it's a no brainer - if you don't agree after you have been on board i'll walk naked entire length of Rundle Mall.

Any Suite is a good Suite ! But I think the middle row for your first run and with any luck you will get one for sitting and another for sleeping.

Having enough trouble finding MEL-LHR in business saver seats for Feb/March/April or May next year now, let alone a suite saver :(

Found one for you. Feb 17th, 19th, 20th, etc. A 777 MEL-SIN, and A380 SIN-LHR in both First and Business :) I'm guess the reason you don't get 2 A380 flights is that you would need to sleep over night in Singapore for the SIN-LHR flight.

Yep they are there, maybe I can blame the SQ website...

Thanks

Finally secured my first Suites saver booking :).
And scored it for less points than I was wiling to pay!! I was looking for a MEL-SIN-MXP trip next March, I usually travel J redemption with the UXB clan and on the day I wanted to fly no J savers available :(, however, I was willing to pay the standard fare 150K (less 15% online) to get there in J. Booking confirmed .

A few weeks later don't know why but I checked F availability on the same day and low and behold 2 F savers all the way there. I won't go into the reasons for cancelling the booking in J and then rebooking in F, rather than calling up Krisflyer and changing the booking , but that's what I did.

The points maths goes ( for 2 seats me and Mini UXB) 255000 refund for J standard booking , 226250 for F saver booking. Net gain 28750:).
So MEL-SIN on 388, SIN-MXP on 77W. The 388 flight is day time so plenty of time to introduce my taste buds to Krug:rolleyes:
Mini UXB is just looking forward to them making a bed up for her !
Now Mrs UXB has got the ump! She is travelling in J solo to LHR a few days earlier for a shopping trip before rendezvous in MXP. No suites savers available for her and her trip has just been changed to 77W all the way there, she's just hoping that her SIN-LHR leg , which has just had the change from 388 to 77W, will be on the new 77W with the new J product .
It will be my first experience of SQ suites/first so looking forward to a few 1st world problems like which side of the double suite to sit on so the Krug feels comfortable in hand!! (thanks Cruiser Elite for reminding us all that such problems exist:))

The moral of the story, if no J savers available on the route your looking at check the F saver before you book J standard fare!

Cheers to all
Danger UXB

Regular KF redeemers would know this already but its a good tip you point ;) However my added suggestion is ALWAYS check for F savers first before even searching for J tickets ;)

Usually all 3 of us travel together so I never usually bother. I am usually very happy if I can get 3 J savers together. Travelling and booking in a pair is a new experience for me!
However I suppose you never know when the website will throw a wobbler and let you book 3 F savers do you!!! Ahh if only!!
Cheers Danger UXB

Our next one in September is one Saver and one Standard for Suites. We really should split up to different flights but it is only a bigger points spend for the love affair to continue.

OMG - I get so warm and fuzzy inside just feeling the glee oozing out of every pore in your skin Danger - I just love it.

Yep seat selection a no brainer - RHDer -> 3C - LHDer -> 3D - IMHO of course.

Have Suites booked MEL-SIN-ZRH Aug 26 - ret FRA-SIN-MEL Sep 01 - then QF F MEL-LAX Sep 12 / Sep 22 - going to be interesting period being able to compare SQ Suite to QF F so closely back to back - but I digress.

I have only been able to do this when they swapped metal. This allowed me a while back to gain 3 F savers to Milan. was also handy as that stage to Europe they used to limit J Savers to 2 per flight, whereas 3 per flight is now readily available.
