Suites savers now available

Such sad times for you Cruiser and that put an end to me thinking I should start my runs from Melbourne.

*SIGH* - another one bites the dust .................... I originally had F ex PVG then Suites Saver SIN-MEL booked for tomorrow but due to reqt to bring China trip forward a few days I had to make new booking and flew back to Oz in J on Tuesday ex PEK so have just cancelled my original booking - *SIGH* .................. our ability to enjoy Suites from / to MEL has a very limited future so having to cancel one so sad.

I'm ex-BNE so we don't even have F up here let alone Suites. But the loss of the 380 ex-MEL is a bummer all the same as we prefer connecting at MEL over SYD, even though SYD now has a far nicer Flounge, and diminished choice is never good even though I can understand SQ's commercial rationale on this one.

Also, SQ322 never seems to have any Suites availability, making an overnight to LHR necessary if one wants to enjoy Suites the entire way. SQ232 -> SQ308. Ample time to enjoy a fantastic 10 course meal with wine/coughtail pairing at the Tippling Club and sleeping it off prior to all that food at TPR/inflight. CDG seems to work with a 6 hour connection. Thinking out loud here for 30th bday celebration in Sept-Oct 2015 (which means I'll be booking Sept 2014). Also have Points to use on EY - too many choices. Hopefully goal posts haven't moved too much by then. :)

Took this advice and although Cruiser's contact wasn't around I managed to get someone reasonably competent to book these. I did need to tell her to deduct the 15% as it isn't possible to book this online though.
Booked two mixed class PER - SIN in J and SIN - LHR in F.
A great total saving of 42500 pts and $140 of fees for the pair compared to separate bookings, so a nice deposit towards the next one's :)

When did you call? Crystal sent me a msg via WhatsApp yesterday saying she is off to Krabi and coughet for 2 wks vac and won't be available to assist - sorry about that WAf.

Possibly a newbie question so apologies in advance if it sounds ridiculous.... I thought it would be best to consult the brains trust before I call SQ and try to explain the situation over the phone!

But..... is it possible to amend an award booking to add another leg, and have it priced as one journey rather than two separate one way bookings??

I'll explain... my dilemma (if you can call it that)... I have my first suites journey booked SIN-CDG and at the time there was no availability BNE-SIN..

However as time has gone on, availability for J class has opened up BNE-SIN and I would like to tack it onto my already booked suites ticket..

Has my ship already sailed and I'm going to have to live with two one way bookings? Or is it possible to amend an already booked journey to make a mixed class redemption?

Many thanks in advance for any advice!

aj you are certainly going to need to call - you cannot change dep port once ticketed - you will need to call KF and explain situation - and get them to do a totally new booking if possible - which it should be if availability still showing BNE- SIN.

KF call ctr staff are their to assist not impede - fully explain your dilemma and ask can they assist - I would be pretty confident they will do their best to accommodate - again sorry Crystal is not there to help you. I did have a managers ext number until this morn - I might still be able to retrieve it - if I can I will pm you in morn if that is ok?

Cruiser that would be a huge help if you could.... thanks in advance for the assistance!

After I booked my suites ticket my only option at the time was to book a JASA with QF (prior to all this simpler/fairer BS) up to SIN to connect with the suites flight but to be honest I'm not really sure I even want to take the flight! (perhaps only to burn these dreaded QF points I've got... but who knows what J product I'll end up with on the A330!)

Hopefully SQ will let me rebook my current booking so I can check bags through and fly them all the way!

Cruiser do you know how many miles it should work out to for BNE-SIN J class then SIN-CDG in suites?

I tried using the slider on the SQ site but it prices two separate bookings (BNE-SIN @55k and SIN-CDG@107k both without the 15% online discount) and doesn't allow calculations of mixed class redemptions.

Do they stick to "The award redemption for the entire trip may be determined at the redemption of the highest class of service flown." or is there another method for calculation?

Earlier this evening. The person I dealt with was Sheena who quickly understood what I was trying to do. She said Crystal was away but was happy to sort it out for me and get it confirmed in about 10 minutes

aj mixed class redemption booking requires pts rated on highest cabin level rate included in itin - so J BNE-SIN then F SIN-CDG will require pts at F rate - no exceptions - in this case 132,500 less 15% cause you cannot book it online = 112,625pts.

If you book 2 x individual sectors online with the 15% disc your total will be 138,125 IMCAC.

Now any KF rep should be able to accommodate you with this - I have pmed you a couple of contact names and numbers just in case you need them. Your chances of success should depend only whether J is available BNE-SIN - good luck - pls report back.

June 17 next Suites adventure - 228 MEL-SIN then 2hr 25min s/o til new 306 F SIN-LHR - 306 was originally booked in Suites also but metal subbed so we get to try new F - anyone else here tried it as yet? cove? Alby?

No subbing for our next flights Cruiser so you may be the first. I checked 6 flights and they are all A380 Suites and all in June.

Mrs UXB sampled it back in late march and gave it a big thumbs up. She was lucky enough to get 2K for sitting and 1K for sleeping. Also received the new feragamo amenity kit aswell.

Nice - SIN-LHR? I'll get some pics and post - we have 2C and 2D booked on 306 SIN-LHR - cabin looks a tad empty right now:

As opposed to 228 MEL-SIN:

flew the refurb'd 777-300ER about a month ago SIN-BOM. empty cabin except for the gf and I. no ferragamo amenities though we did push through the krug and the dom since we hadn't done enough comparison on the SYD-SIN flight up *cough cough*

i do like the darker colours, and the leather is nice and new. otherwise still pretty much the same as the old F. will dig out a few photos if anyone's interested.

I know I am a bit late reply to this but was at an SQ function at the Melbourne National Gallery a week or more ago when their regional manager mentioned that they were hopeful of restoring the 380 to MEL as soon as next March. He mentioned that they needed to withdraw the 380 to be the first mover into India with services into BOM and DEL but they were not neglecting the Australian market despite some signs of over capacity into the region appearing. Their through traffic into the sub-Continent remains strong in the premium cabins so they would restore the services into Australia as soon as they were able to.

WOW thanks for posting this mw it allows me to come back home to a SQ thread - I snuck my nose into a QF thread and copped a bit of an cough kickin'.

But back OT - return of 380 would be warmly welcomed. Interesting point about 'signs of over capacity into the region appearing' - last couple of months has been easy to get F and J Savers (not Suites unfortunately) to / from China even as late as day before.
