Yep kinda same experience for me also - kinda think the romantic dining notion might be for lovers rather than married couples - not that we don't love dining together - and probably presumptive of me to speak in such terms - how do others feel?

We (other half and I) dined together in TG F (not quite suites) before we were married.

i don't think with mind so much if we just sat in our own suites now. :D

Yep, just like brunch at the weekends. New couples still hold hands etc, those in established relationships are busy reading the paper or more likely playing with the iPhone etc

Is it bad that I've only been married 6 months? :D

The other night I was looking at suites bookings and asked if the wife is she'd like to go to HKG...

'I think i'd rather just stay in Australia for now'

?!?!! Nearly fell off my chair.

Getting back onto the Thread theme (if I might), I have booked and ticketed the first part of an SQ RTW - MEL-SIN-NRT-LAX then JFK-FRA-SIN-MEL for April/May 2015 in J and looking to upgrade on some segments - particularly NRT-LAX, JFK-FRA and FRA-MEL as three separate Saver upgrades for 2 people. Looking on-line the same day as the flights were ticketed (as far as FRA at the moment), I was surprised to see no Saver availability on any of the five sectors.

Do I need to ring Krisflyer or go to their SIN office as I am through there at the weekend for one night? I am a TPPS of 14 years standing so that's got to count for something, I hope.

Any advice welcome - I have not read the whole 105 pages of the thread so point me in the right direction if I have missed something obvious. I'll let you know how I go.

First time I have tried this so wish me luck.

We normally get the 2 middle seats in the middle rather than the window so a bit of a moot point I suppose. It's always nice to be able to clink our first glasses of pre-take off champers together. But on a recent flight in Suites, the cabin was so empty that we were able to turn a window seat into our dining room and the inflight companion dining experience was lovely. :)

Although this thread seems to have gone very quiet, I thought I would tell you that, after some time spent both on-line and with the SQ Office in SIN, my local PPS coordinator offered full Saver F Class bookings all the way to FRA so will have 777-300 to SIN, then Suites all the way to FRA. The points were shared between my wife and me so we both still have a few left (and about to head to the UK next week so will start to build again).

An added bonus is we can cash in the J ticket we already had - we were originally trying for an upgrade only - and use them to pay for FRA-SIN-MEL as full F tickets. We are going to take the LH 380 to SIN and then SQ217 (presently the 777-300ER) to MEL. This is marginally cheaper than using SQ all the way and we can try the LH F Lounge in FRA and the Private Room twice in SIN. A fantastic outcome all around really. Now just have to do the rest of the planning.

Need to call KF to try and change my suites booking... is it best to call 13 10 11 or (02) 9350 0203?? Do they both go to the same place??

aj mixed class redemption booking requires pts rated on highest cabin level rate included in itin - so J BNE-SIN then F SIN-CDG will require pts at F rate - no exceptions - in this case 132,500 less 15% cause you cannot book it online = 112,625pts.

If you book 2 x individual sectors online with the 15% disc your total will be 138,125 IMCAC.

Now any KF rep should be able to accommodate you with this - I have pmed you a couple of contact names and numbers just in case you need them. Your chances of success should depend only whether J is available BNE-SIN - good luck - pls report back.

I can't believe I almost made the mistake of booking a J flight out of BNE for full F rates!!!

Somebody must be looking out for me, because a quick check online showed availability in F out of MEL to connect with my suites flight... could not get on the phone quicker to the Sydney KF office... have never spoken with such helpful staff (nothing like dealing with the QF dragons!)... was all solved in under ten minutes, original booking cancelled, suites kept on hold, re-ticketed new journey MEL-SIN in F and SIN-CDG in suites!

Needless to say we are over the moon! Big thanks to many on here especially Cruiser Elite!

Now to work out what to select on BTC?? And what to do in SIN for our 18 hour layover (besides several meals in TPR!)

aj sometimes it is NOT a mistake to pay F rates for 2 sector flt with 1 sector being in J - I occasionally do this out of PEK - 805 which is 2 class (J & Y) to connect with 227 (Suites) - gives me 5 or 6hrs in TPE - you just gotta go with what suits your needs best.

Having said that congrats on your itin change - please post back on your exp - pics displaying total glee on faces of time Suites pax greatly appreciated.

Just booked 2 x F Saver MEL-SIN with 2nt stopover in SIN then SIN-CDG in Suites for mid June 2015. Stopover add USD100 to the booking. Gotta love CC pts earn huh?

We recently did the hop to Melbourne to join our Suites fligth. Well worth it. We actually returned from Sin-BNE in J just to make it all quicker on the return. As we had come off a suites flight from Europe we were still afforded TPR access. I greatest shock was boarding the A330 and looking at the size of the J seat. What we had previously thought was spacious looked very cramped.

Just got meself SYD - SIN - NRT suit savers on the A380 for June next year. Gives me something to look forward to.

As a single traveller I booked 1F for both sectors.

Has anyone tried the Kyo-Kaiseki book the cook meal - was thinking to try that on the SIN - NRT flight

I did.

Didn't like it at all !

Bland as a piece of paper !

BTW, I do enjoy Kaiseki in Kyoto itself so it's not like I'm a NB.

That's disappointing to hear.

Will have to mull my options over the next few months.

Hopefully the experience lives up to the bubbling expectations I have :D

I told you guys I am no rocket scientist - yesterday fully evidenced same.

Had *A J rdpt booked out of IST to ZRH where we were to o/n then SQ J ZRH-SIN-MEL. I had been in contact with Crystal at KF trying to upgrade to F so we had Suites ZRH-SIN then F SIN-MEL. So at 10pm ZRH time last night I called KF to give it one last shot - Crystal not working but I got Eva - sorry Mt Elite but your flts are not booked for 8th but rather for 9th! D'Oh!!!!

So can I get upgrade to F and bring date fwd? - no Sir - NA - but can upgrade you to F on 9th - that'll do - so 63Kpts a SF60 later we are upgraded to Suites ZRH-SIN and F SIN-MEL. Only down side is I am committed to acting at Cruiserette's slave for next 24hrs as punishment for basically not knowing what day of the week it is.

Probably best mistake I have made for some time!

I think I spoke with Eva to change an outgoing flight so we go half a day early and overnight in Singapore before we do the Suites run to LAX and back. She was a big help.

Yes she is a star - I'll actually get her ext no. for future ref next time I talk to Crystal - I think her and Crystal are kinda like BFFs.
