confirmations are in the INBOX !

Not a suite but then F is F - exp. for only 2,000 miles and $USD100 extra !

Would YOU take that offer ???
Well done - another win for the good guys.

Legroom what exactly is in your inbox? The reason I ask is because coupla years back I upgraded J Saver to Suites Saver at say 8pm when flt leaving 5hrs later - all appeared good - cost was showing ZERO but KF onto me within hour or so to rectify that - hopefully you will be all clear though.

As for F being F - yes you are right to some degree - what metal SGN-SIN? Early last year I struck one of the old 777-200's ex MNL that had not been re-fitted - F in that was a disgrace - again hopefully you won't get that - I do not know if any of these old birds with old fit-out still floating around.

777-300 (SIN SGN)

I did not look but it is 'only' J so it is of minor importance for the short SGN SIN leg.

Confirmed (O) class with an e-ticket number and seat selection was done (1F, to avoid the early morning sun of 1A)

Just use Citibank Select for everything other than ATO as Citibank Australia pay zero points on ATO.

So the Citibank select earns 2 Citibank reward points per dollar, then converts to SQ KF at 1.5 Citibank points = 1 SQ KF mile.
Therefore earn is 1.33 SQ KF per dollar, less than the Westpac Altitude Black/SQ AMEX at 1.5 SQ KF miles per dollar....

Then again is Citibank an AMEX card? Can't find if it is Visa/MC...

Edit: whoops, VISA - looked in the wrong place

Time goes by very quickly so our round the world is now under 4 weeks away. So it is SQ Suites from Singapore to Los Angeles and a cut across to London using AA/BA in First thru Chicago and finally Suites from London to Singapore. Getting from Perth to Singapore and return is in J. We have enjoyed the single window seats rather than the double bed as I married Sleeping Beauty.

If mrs cove is sleeping beauty does that make you Darth Vader with your resmed ???

Pretty right on that idea Danger UXB. Using a sleep machine is something you take a while to adjust to but once you have it running well you wake up refreshed. I have more than one machine because they work great even in SQ Suites.

Well aware of the benefits cove. Mrs UXB is also a dark lord of the resmed !

Flying in style using frequent flyer points for a round the world trip for two was always one of lifes biggest challenges. Suites have been a big help following the loss of the SQ A340 all business class plane. It was that plane where I learnt about using a second spare seat on a flight.
Quite a number of our friends have sleep machines now so I don't feel I am the odd one out. I snore and this machine fixes snoring.

Am I a b@st@rd?
My flights in Feb next year I've selected 3C on every leg (the cabin is empty so far)
Considering I'm flying alone I'm having an attack of the guilts thinking I'm stopping a couple taking the centre.
Any intelligence on likelihood of second suite if one takes the window seats on either side?
Regards,
Peter

Peter you only luck out on the second seat/suite if all 12 are taken or if you are too slow in asking sweetly. We go window side.

Yes I'm thinking I might get online and switch them all. No reason I can't change later if that side of the cabin fills up.

If there is a spare Suite I don't mind walking to it in my PJs but you only get one Headset. I have walked from A to F to bag the second Suite.

Peter I aint the sharpest pencil in the tin but I not 100% sure what you are asking here?

Sorry mate, I re-read my post and yes I'm not being clear. I meant is it any more likely on "fuller" segments, that you get the offer of a second suite depending on where you are seated. Still not clear? Please ignore - it really would be a first world problem to have!

Gotcha now - no there is only a certain allocation of Suites available for redemption - even at FULL rates - seat selection will NEVER influence availability.

Now that you have responded let me relate a tale. Last week returning ZRH-SIN-MEL we had 2 x J Savers booked - I decided to upgrade to Suites and it showed available so I proceeded. Then when I proceeded to Select Seats 3C and 3D already occupied - as was 2D - so Cruiseette and myself could not get a pair of Suites together - spoke to KF staff and they confirmed only 3 pax in Suites on that flt.

No biggie I said - at check-in and as soon as we board we will nicely ask pax in 2D if we can re-arrange seating - if no go then no biggie. Check-in rep said she would ask firstly when 2D pax checked in - so far so good - we proceed to Senator Loung in ZRH to kill some time.

On boarding we then discover a married couple in 3C and 3D - ok understandable - but 2D pax was indeed the female half of another married couple who were having their first Suites experience - commercial tix too I might add not rdpts - and somehow they had only achieved one seat selection - 2D. Cruiserette had selected 2C and myself 2A. WOW - how is this for a conundrum. We were then more than happy to give up 2C so the older couple who were having their first Suites experience could sit together.

BUT - before we could even convey these thoughts - other couple are now firmly entrenched in a vigorous discussion with CSM and other Suites cabin staff about the situation and it went on for some minutes. Eventually other lady comes over to Cruiserette and says please we want you 2 to have 2C and 2D - we really both want window seats. Cruiserette says NO NO NO - you guys sit together - NO NO NO we never sit in middle seats we always want window seats - are you sure? - yes 100% sure - absolutely no problem and we really want window seats.

Well OK - if that is what you want well that suits us fine. We then chatted and enjoyed a Champers or 2 and took each others pics - absolutely delightful couple and I am sure they had ZERO problem with us. They did say they would be having serious discussions with their TA for not securing window seats for them first up - go figure.

Good story. I've moved many times on flights when others have had seating "issues". To be honest I'm not really fussed where I sit unless in Y, in which case I want aisle. I've been centre and window in suites and the bubbles taste just as nice in either!

Hi all,

So, I'm planning on flying with the missus in suites for the first time in Oct/Nov to CDG/LHR using points and surprising her with suites. I'm going all out on this trip, using all my points on suites (hopefully) and awesome hotels in London+Paris because I may be proposing to the missus if the time is right, i.e. I have a ring by then.

I'm planning on doing MEL-CDG on one ticket and then maybe LHR-MEL on the other ticket, saves going back to Paris from London to catch the flight home. I am hoping for a 2 week trip as I really can't leave my business for that long. I have found a couple available flights in suites in A380 on both legs from MEL-CDG.

I'm hoping to book one of these flights then book a return leg 2 weeks later. I was really hoping for 14 days of being overseas, excluding the plane trip. The only return flight at the 2 week mark is F on 777 on both legs (LHR-MEL) and is a 34hr flight, or there is J on 777 (both legs) LHR-MEL 21hr flight (preferable as I'm not losing a day flying). The next best flight will mean I have to extend my trip by 5/6 days, which really means I will be away from work for 21 days instead of roughly 14 days :(

I'm really hoping for suites going there and returning home, but I see it's not that easy.

1. Should I just book Suites MEL-CDG on one ticket then J LHR-MEL on another ticket & waitlist a couple preferred flights in suites in the preferred date range?

2. Is suites worth it flying home?

3. What's the likelihood of the waitlist becoming available? I have no status whatsoever as this will be my first flight with SQ.

4. As my points will be coming from MR, how long does it normally take to transfer over to KF?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

1) Only you can decide if time off work is worth the suites or not. Basic principle: a bird in hand .....

2) Suites are always better than J. Even on a night trip. Value-wise, it is less than a day trip but still far better than J. You decide !

3) Waitlist is a lottery game. You win some, you lose some. It does not cost anything to be on waitlist. That's for sure.

4) In general, 2-3 days.

Cheers

Sorry, one more thing. If I do book F or J then a waitlist becomes available, do I cancel the original ticket or get SQ to change the ticket? If cancel and re-book waitlist, is the only fee $30 to get your points back?

Also, if I do cancel, will the points be put back on my account immediately so I can use it to book the waitlisted flight?

Thanks
