as a general principle I've found I'm more likely to get the right answer off AFF than ringing a call centre!
Where KF call ctr is concerned - WRONG

I can personally attest to the following straight from a KF call ctr Managers mouth:

'We will give you the correct information - you may need to seek input further up the chain - we like all call centres have staff who come and go - some are not as experienced as others - it is my / our job as team leaders to make sure the customer gets the CORRECT information - so always feel free to ask for a Manager!'

I am lucky I have actually gotten to meet a KF call ctr team leader - I often seek their input and have referred dozens to call ctr reps who WILL give correct answers - but in first instance ALWAYS ask for a Manager if you are not satisfied that info from KF call ctr rep is accurate.

The trouble with this theory is how do you know information provided by the CSR is wrong?. There are plenty of examples where I have received information which on the face of it seems correct, it's only after I've either talked to others or discovered later the information was incorrect.

What the Call centre manager says is great, but I'm sure many Call Centre MAnagers would say something similar. But you shouldnt have to escalate to a Manager in every instance to get the correct information.

It's great you feel so comfortable with KF but I dont think its unreasonable for the OP to seek confirmation of information provided from a trusetd source (going back to your original comment as to why you would do this). Yes, escalating to a Manager is another option but unlike you I dont feel it is the only option.

PS. You really dont need to shout to get your point accross, shouting does not make information any more valid IMO.

Thanks to all the contributors to this thread.

Got my first Singapore flights coming up this weekend. Going to the Singapore GP with a group of friends and partners.

Between us we managed to get 4 first savers and 4 business savers (2 first savers are flying out a day earlier)

A question for those on here that may know. The 4 business savers, also waitlisted for First Savers suites.

I was having a look at the loads on Expertflyer yesterday and there were 7 available Suites in First. Today when I checked back there were 4 suites that had been blocked (not occupied). This was similar in business with a number of the empty seats now listed as blocked.

Anyone seen this before?

I am of course hoping that the 4 suites blocked are somehow related to the 4 suites we waitlisted for.

We'll have a great time regardless.

Thanks again

I am wavering between booking F Suites + F SYD SIN DXB and booking J for our trip next year - all day flights. We have travelled SQ J before and appreciated all it had to offer. We don't amass points easily and basically the difference between the two would get us SYD SIN in J on the way back as opposed to 2 in whY. My partner is a non drinking vegetarian who tends not to eat on planes anyway so I just wonder whether it would the Suite experience alone would be worth it?

I've been enjoying this thread since last year when we did a J return Sydney London with SQ (my first experience with SQ) so I have decided to jump on board & have redeemed an F / suites saver Sydney London next year. Have taken daytime flights with SQ212 to Singapore in F then a 16hr layover with SQ308 to London in suites. So I figure the 16hr layover gives us an afternoon & evening in TPR followed by a restful recovery in the Crown Plaza then back for the suites experience to London. Noting that we have daytime flights will the Singapore Girls still hand out the PJs & if not would it be impolite to ask?

They will have the PJ's go ahead and ask. No one else will probably ask so grab some extra sets if you like then wash it down with krug or Dom

Well the obvious answer to that one, is it's worth it for you, not for her. But suspect that suggestion would not go down too well. Have you asked her for her views!

The trip is her delayed 50th birthday celebration and as I do all the planning I like to have some surprises along the way so, no, I haven't asked. It's hard enough getting her to go back to whY after J so I'm a little concerned that I might be opening a big can of (expensive and unsustainable) worms!

After reading Dr Bob's post, I think she would rather enjoy spending the evening in the TPR post flight before going to our hotel and prior to flying on to DXB.

Bazzi's bucket list - travel SQ Suites/F class - tick!

PJs are indeed handed out on all flts over 7hrs.

Formal SQ policy re PJs and amenity kits:

Turning to amenities, we would like to share that sleeper suits and toiletry kits are presented to Suite and First Class passengers depending on the departure time and block time. Amenities are handed out for day flights (departing between 0600-1800 hours) with a block time of 7 hours or more, including flights from Singapore to Tokyo. Amenities are also handed out for night flights (departing between 1800-0600 hours) with a block time of 3.5 hours or more, where the arrival time is past 0030 hours. These guidelines were put in place more than ten years ago.

I have a suites flight for SYD - SIN - TOK with an overnight in SIN so I can have suites all the way.

Am I correct to understand I can pop into the TPR on arriving in SIN as well as the next morning before heading to TOK?

Yes if you have BP for SIN-TOK sector in your hand which you no doubt will have.

What time does SIN-TOK flt dep? If it's early they will serve brekkie onboard - pain in the cough if you have already had brekkie in TPR.
