Gday

The SYD-SIN-NRT-LAX trip looks like a great trip. Just a quick one for the Krisflyer experts- If you ring up on the phone to book it and want to do a stopover can you choose both SIN and NRT or is it a maximum of only one stopover per one way trip at $100 per person?

Thanks,

Pele.

As many as u want but 100 per stop, per person.

Pele you can pay USD100 for stopover each port provided you can get connecting flts to suit - must be done on phone and YES you still get 15% disc.

Cruiser, forgive my ignorance, but how does it work when choosing connecting flights?

Could you, in theory, book the cheapest flight on the outbound, and then when adding a stopover, select a more expensive flight onward?

Or are there rules... free seats in same fare class etc.?

Sorry Cruiser – I was kind of thinking revenue, but I guess the same would apply. Would there need to be saver availability on the onward flight, if I had booked initially in saver? Or could I get anything I want?

No Saver is Saver - 1, 2 or 3 sectors - if you book or want to book a Saver award all sectors must be available at Saver rates.

If wanting to include stopovers you need to check availability first then if you do see available then call imm and get it arranged. KF call centre agents overall are very competent and cooperative - they have some staff turnover issues at the moment and a number of less experienced staff are now employed there so it can be a tad difficult at times. But the call ctr staff are always your best friends - ask away nicely and you can usually get set.

Finally success! Suites here we come. Thanks for everyone's help and advice.

After a bit of a struggle we finally got it booked. I found Stanley who I also spoke with yesterday a great help and would highly recommend him.

And you have secured best seats in the house! Well done - you will be ruined for life now I hope you know?

And you will have to learn to play the game hard to get back there again!! SQ suites probably need a government "advisory content "warning like CD's!!!

I actually turned down Suite flt tomorrow PVG-SIN to fly new F SIN-MEL - what's that you say?

Ken Bruce has gone mad!

Google that one kids - the old foggies will get it,

Haha yeah, we are going to try and get the return leg in Suites as well but that will set the points balance back to 0.

Next target is NY, I suspect any future trips may be limited to Suites destinations.

We have two Suites this week that we booked a few weeks ago. We decided to overnight in Singapore so it will be hello Crowne Plaza.

Flying suites for the first time last year has ruined flying for me. Looking towards my next suites flight, but not looking forward to my next Y flight as I haven't flown since and will fly Y to coughet mid year for a short trip with the boys. Don't know how I'm going to handle that.

Takes about a year to save up for a suites flight so will need to start looking soon at next suites flight redemption with the missus. Hoping to go to venice & santorini end of this year or early next year for our honeymoon. So trying to figure out the best way to get there and back in suites. Might have to do mixed redemption or have to fly EK suites, which I wouldn't mind trying.

Initially I read this as you booked suites to fly and stay over night in SIN and fly back, but I assume you have an onward journey? I hope you do, otherwise this is just way too outrageous lol

We are going to London for the May3rd lunch and the SIN - LHR is our Suites run. Out of Perth there is only business class to Singapore.

Thanks all for your assistance – just booked 2 pax PVG-SIN A380 F and SIN-MEL 777-300 F. It worked out to only be 105k VFF points (transferred to KF) + $330 per person which I thought was excellent value given how easy VA points are to earn. I’m going to keep it as a complete surprise to my partner who thinks we’re going SQ J until we get to check in and he says ‘you’re in the wrong check-in line – that’s for First Class’.

Was able to seat assign both flights – no seats were taken so selected 3CD for A380 and 1CD for 777-300. I’m guessing there’s really no bad seats in such a small cabin?

This was my first KF redemption and was only possible thanks to the VA:SQ transfer offer. Apart from the fairly high surcharges levied by KF I’m pretty impressed by the KF program – the availability is amongst the best I have seen in any program. Even TG would struggle to give me 2 x F seats with only 4 months notice.

So heres my #firstworldproblem - ive got 2 F seats booked for SQ237 but have been keeping an eye out to see if SQ217 the following morning opens up as i agree an overnight flight in F is a bit of a waste.

Checking tonight, there is 1 saver seat available on the 217 i want but when i change the search to 2 seats its waitlisted for both saver and standard. Would that likely mean people have waitlisted both 2 saver and 2 standard? Should i gamble on another seat opening up and grab the one thats available?

Im using VA points so dont want to move points into KF just for the purpose of waitlisting- theyll be orphaned there whether it comes through or not.

Sorry for the off topic. how much it cost if we are to cancel redemption on J or F booking/ticket ? what happen to the KF points ?

cheers

Cancelling is very reasonable but if you used miles that are now more than 3 years old those miles cannot be returned to your account as technically they have expired. You may then get to use them if you are nice and your reason for cancelling is reasonable. When Mrscove's dad had a bad health turn last year that happened and she used them later.

USD30 / pax to cancel a confirmed redemption. KF pts will be redeposited to KF account from which they were withdrawn provided - as cove has pointed out - points at date of cancelation have not expired due to 3 year time frame.

Sitting in TPR and just had a lovely breakfast. Just hoping the English have stopped cooling London down too much by opening their fridge and freezer doors too often.
