Have decided to do the R thing for my January trip to Japan skiing, so R all the way and an overnight in SIN.

Actually have never been in J only SQ on R/F

1st world problem ;))

Sounds like you used to be the Speaker of Parliament ?

Well I am pleased to report that Hubby and I will be sampling the delights of the SQ suites in March. Transferred some of our Velocity points over and will be flying LHR-SIN-SYD (suites to SIN and then First to SYD) We live in Brisbane, but no way was I going to slum it in J class for half of my trip.;) Very excited:D.
We are going to LHR over in J class with Etihad too, so life ain't bad (787 then A380)

Are there any advantages in being Velocity Platinum when flying with SQ or EY?

Congrats on the trip - you'll love it.
In my experience, I've never pulled out my platinum card when travelling suites.
Suites is advantage enough.
Others may think differently, though.
Have fun,
Peter

Thanks :) The plat card question was more to do with travelling J class with EY....Don't want to miss out on anything;)

Returning from ZRH in suites all the way, wondering if I choose 14 hours in SIN, can I leave carry on bag in TPR, or anywhere? Does TPR have a shower?

Thanks, I think I'd try the TPR behind the desk intially. The left luggage seems to be a goer, with an odd price:

Cabin
$3.21

No idea about leaving a bag in TPR, but SIN has cheap and accessible luggage storage options in each terminal.

Airport Attractions - Singapore Changi Airport

TPR doesn't have storage facilities - I've asked before. They let me keep it behind the desk though.

left luggage is super cheap - but choose the right one.

TPR has showers separate to the bathrooms which is a bit of a pain in my view. good shower pressure though.

Feeling pretty chuffed with myself. Just booked ZRH-xSIN-MEL for myself and Jnr#1 for June 2016. Seats 3C/D in suites and 2C/D in R.

Now I have to tackle those pesky LM's to get us over there.

I'm also doing that route in July via SYD-xSIN-AMS. Planning on a day in ZRH when I return from OSL. Does an Aussie need a visa for ZRH?

rob just a wee clarification - I assume your SIN-MEL flt is on a 777 or is 380 back showing availability for that period?

Suites on 380 book into R/F class for revenue tix - First Class on 777s book into F class for revenue tix - but both rdpts for Suites (generically known as R) and First Class (F) all book into O class and this is what will show on your electronic tix - that can be a little confusing. So most commonly used terms for rdpt bookings is R for Suites and F for first.

But that aside you have selected the best seats in the house for accompanied travel - do enjoy and please report back.
